Re: From the HSS Training Center Official news & notes Thread
I think what Kenny said about LeVert after his first injury applies. It takes longer for younger players to get back in that rhythm after they lost it. Russell isn't as athletic or long as LeVert, so he can't just run the floor like a maniac and play defense until he gets his rhythm back. His game is based off of tough jumpshots, precise timing, and tricky handles. Not surprised it's taking him longer to get into a groove.

But Russell needs a jolt of confidence in his game to get back into rhythm.. in a wasted season why not give Dlo starter minutes? Guys like Crabbe have gotten major PT this season and it's not like he's been playing good either for the longest stretch.
Point is if they believe Russell will be part of the core they need to give him all the chances to succeed.

bruh the time to come for Crabbe ain't after 34 points.
Russell needs to earn his time. In time he will. But they have to stick to their morals here. He won't get better if you coddle him.

I'm not saying anything bad about Crabbe, my point was that even though he was in a funk we kept starting him and believing in him so why not with Dlo?

B/c DLo is a PG. We're developing him as a PG. That's why Kenny put him in unit #2, b/c he wants to see if this guy will run through a wall for him. He's finding out about his character and leadership through this. You're in the 2nd unit, lead that unit, show me you're a franchise player.

Yeah I mostly agree here. Kenny alluded to it too by saying Russell needs more time with the first unit.
I think he's still on a minutes restriction so that's why he's not getting major PT.
I think the ideal scenario is you start Russell but I think they legit want him to earn it. Crabbe seems like a guy they coddle. They don't want him to lose his confidence. And Carroll has been playing really well. It's almost unfair to put him on the bench.
It's coming though. I think things will normalize after the all Star break.

DLo is a SG with PG passing abilities. It shows with his forceful passing that hes not a true PG. He can handle the rock if need be but that shouldn't be his primary role.

That's your take.
The development staffs take is, Russell is 21 yrs. old, he has stubborns habits that need to be fixed. He's not a 40-50% 3pt shooter, his midrange clogs the offensive scheme and spacing. So he has to develop better decision making and hit his open shots.

So now that the trade deadline has passed, does RHJ get back on the court?

Crabbe has been playing good defense he just hasn't been making shots consistently, but he doesn't hurt you if he starts.
There's an emphasis on defense everyone on the roster needs to put forth the effort on that end.
The coach said he would play Dinwiddie and DLo together. Both can play off guard so it can work.

Re: From the HSS Training Center Official news & notes Thread
In a particularly telling comment after the Pelicans game, Crabbe said “I should’ve been playing like this since Day One.”
One reason why, he told reporters after the Pistons game is that he’s not used to having the greenlight.
‘I look at all the other guys in the league who go out and get big numbers every night,” Crabbe said. “Those are the guys that don’t have a conscience. That’s what I have to work towards doing. I have to understand that’s what they’re allowing me to do over here.”
bruh shoot the ball.

Honestly, the Russell surgery and then losing both RHJ/LeVert at the same time pretty much derailed the team. Can't win games when 3 out of your top 5 best players miss significant time.
