When defenses really scheme for us, things might get ugly very quickly.

61 games into the season and we currently have a worse record than

-San Antonio without Leonard
-Boston without Hayward
-Denver without Millsap
-Washington
-Indiana
-Milwaukee
-Portland
-Philly
-Minnesota

The objective was clearly to go all in and here we are, on pace for 46 wins. At some point, this needs to be addressed. It's one thing to struggle early on, but we're 8 weeks away from the Playoffs and are in real danger of missing them. Apart from those six weeks that included the two winning streaks (going 16-5), we're under .500 for the rest of the season at 18-22.

Somebody needs to be held accountable for this. Especially with all the talk coming out of training camp and preseason, this is unacceptable.

Maybe my fantasy of George re-signing despite missing the playoffs and winning the lottery will be accompanied by ownership only being willing to pay the tax if a coaching change is made.

If that happens, Presti should go with him. Get a fresh start. Enough of this same bs.

Over the next 10 games, we're playing 6 teams who currently have 18 wins (Orlando, Dallas, Phoenix 2x, Sacramento, Atlanta). Not a single one of those teams has any interest in winning games.
We also have 7 games left vs teams currently seeded 3-9 in the WCF.

The rest is 2x vs Houston, 4x vs ECF Playoff teams (Miami 2x, Boston Toronto), Memphis and the Warriors.

538 has us going 12-9 to finish the season. That includes going 6-0 vs those tanking teams and 4-3 vs our seeding rivals.

Presti is fine, but we need a Director of Basketball Ops to give direction to the team alongside a new coach

Per stats.nba.com:

Games both Durant and Westbrook missed: -2.6 NetRtG (16 games)
Games Durant played in (Westbrook was part of every single game Durant played): +3.7 NetRtG (27 games)
Games Westbrook played in without Durant: +1.1 (39 games)

That season is still remarkable imo. Brooks coached the hell out of that team that year. Everybody was hurt. Sebastian Telfair and PJIII were getting minutes.

He certainly had his flaws, but Donovan is decisively worse than him. Brooks might have been stubborn while he was here, but Donovan is even worse in that regard: Brooks was a little bit unwilling to adjust when things that were normally working weren't; Donovan on the other hand ignores things that work and keeps doing things that have never worked.

I think it was the right move to fire Scotty. Even though it was after his own best season performance wise, his problems with a healthy team were pretty glaring and not dissimilar to our current issues. While Donovan's experimenting is idiotic, it's basically the other end of the extreme to what Scotty was for us.

But the **** occurred when we made the replacing a lateral move. I'd rather have Scott now knowing how bad Donovan is, but firing Scotty could have worked out pretty well for us. Could.

Record vs those 3 teams this season:

Dallas: 1-2 (lost by 16 and 3, won by 13)
Orlando: 0-1 (lost by 13)
Phoenix: 0-1 (lost by 14)

Going 1-2 or even 0-3 wouldn't surprise me.

It should have been there all season long with those self-proclaimed championship aspirations.

Reign23 wrote:do you think okc gonna miss the playoffs?

Possibly. I could see them going 3-7 over the next 10 and that's with the easy half of the remaining schedule.

If missing the Playoffs would mean also getting rid of Donovan, it might be worth it. You know, what we call 'Glück im Unglück' ;)
