I think they are a nice young team that won't reach the insane amount of talent they should have had due to poor asset management. Colangelo should be fired if Fultz doesn't work out.

His game and confidence is night and day, you can't honestly tell me that he's the same player now that he was last season.

Its night and day (IMO) because he got to actually play against the guy in game...and realized, Hey I’m as good as these dudes...or better. So yeah i agree but his game isnt different...he just has experience and confidence based on the outcome of that experience. You cant expect a player to play well when the coach shows no confidence...it was pretty much a “anyone buy Sato” at guard motto coming from the coaching staff last year.

Having watched him in many games in Europe, this was puzzling. It looked like two different players. This looks very much like the Sato of Europe.

It makes me definitely doubt Brooks as a "development" coach. Or at least a development coach for those that aren't in the rotation. I guess he is perfectly paired with EG (I know that is harsh but...).
In my heart I believe Scott Brooks can be getting more out of the young guy Chris McCullough.

Sheldon Mac is a talented player who could have contributed mightily last season.

I don't need to knock Scott Brooks because right now The Perfect Storm of good things going right is happening... Just agreeing with your post, dckingsfan.

Quiet 23 points? Hoy sh-t did you watch the game? He must have hit 5-6 big shots at the end of the shotclock and one to end the half. He was pretty quiet in the second half but again, we had a big lead and the Sixers did D him up pretty well.

Yes, I missed the 1st half completely. So I missed the fireworks, I guess. In the 2nd half, he was quiet, although he did get a bunch more pts.

The 2d quarter was the decisive one -- 37 points & just about every shot went in. We were outscored over the other 3 quarters.

How many buzzer-beating shots did Otto make - not to mention one that maybe didn't quite beat the buzzer so we won't mention it. It's such a valuable asset to make those shots after the defense has done its job for 23 seconds. Watching the game, I thought Saric and Covington played well, but looking at the boxscore, they combined for 7 of 24. That's a lot for Embiid and Simmons to make up for, and they didn't. Aside from a few defensive breakdowns giving up layups and wide open 3's, the Wiz played excellent defense on the whole, and they made all their open shots for a change. Fun game to watch - realizing Philly is the team of the future.

I do feel that Philly makes that jump next year and is right there with Boston and Philly. They also pick-up two more picks, 10 & 18 right now. I could see them trying to trade up if they could get Doncic. Otherwise - they are better just sitting where they are at and picking up wings. And then picking up FC players in the second round with their three picks. But a FC rotation of Embiid, Saric and Holmes isn't bad :)

Add to that they have Simmons, Bayless, McConnell & Fultz at PG. Guessing they could make a trade for a SG...
Philadelphia might have a bit too much talent. They're also not a sure thing for a variety of reasons.

--Joel Embiid has not been able to stay healthy (unlike Marcin Gortat).
I hope Joel stays healthy. He's great. However, he's (very) injury-prone. All Philadelphia 76er eggs are in the basket that needs JE healthy.

--Dario Saric is talented. Yet, Richaun Holmes seems even more impactful. They're really deep now but minutes could cause a departure. Also, Dario could get to be a superstar, perhaps, if he had more touches. That will never happen with Embiid and Simmons as his teammates.

--Robert Covington. Who's he? Like Otto Porter he's a really good player who does not get enough shots.

Philadelphia could become world beaters. However, in life nothing is certain. Who foresaw Gilbert Arenas getting hurt? Washington has experience and POTENTIALLY A LOT MORE stability.

The Sixers have talent, but so did the Wizards when they had Webber and Howard and Rod Strickland. Remember how Wiz management knee jerk traded Chris Webber? Within a couple of years that team had all sorts of new players...

So might Philadelphia.

While this stretch of games should be a wake up call for Wall, like primetime I am doubtful. Wall has been making the same mistakes for years and has shown no signs of trying to correct them.
I am glad not to be a Wall hater! Things have gone full circle.

Strangely, I'm optimistic that he will figure it out...

It is just so bizarre that people are free to say things now without alienating.

As good as Bradley Beal has been, a healthy Otto Porter is better IMO.

Potentially much better.

I guess.

I'm a Doris fan.

Personally, I think she's one of the better analysts out there.
What is funny is the Philadelphia fans found her insufferable.

Doris has a lot of passion for the game and she's knowledgeable. I think she says a lot of TMZ type stuff-- ESPN is into that. They are more interested in DRAMATIZING the "feud" between WALL and GORTAT than they are showing Tomas Satoransky highlights. ....

Doris also tends to repeat herself (like I do...)

I think Kara Lawson is a much better analyst.

I'm sure this has been a revelation to everyone. From players, to coaches & the front office and certainly to Wall. However let's not act like he's been trash.

She was the color commentator on TNT for the game. I think she's perfectly fine - seems to take her job seriously and enjoys doing it - a good combination.
