It's the team name and not the City. JKidd and Kenyon Martin and their records are still associated with The Nets.
His jersey is hanging in the rafters, the BKN Nets also retired JKidd's Jersey.
Seattle is the only team that keeps its names and records, OKC didn't get them.

Phoenix's backcourt suddenly looks legit with the addition of Elfrid Payton. (Who'd a thunk?)

I kinda hope they do get Ayton in the draft now.

A lineup with Ayton - Josh Jackson - Booker - Elfrid would be fun to watch develop the next few years.

PS Orlando's player development is the worst. EP avg 16 ppg, 8 apg, 7 rpg since joining PHX.

Why? You like seeing players wasted?

There's a reason you didn't list Marquise Criss or Dragan Bender or Alex Len in the lineup you listed above.

Fair point. And I have heard some concerns regarding Ayton going to losing, listless franchise with on Center. (The way Boogie and A Davis did.)

But that core would be fun to watch and in 5 years might be the best team in the West. One of the few teams capable of keeping up with Philly, Boston and/or Chicago.

What the ...? You literally just described the Suns. A losing, listless franchise with no center.

You do realize the Suns don't have a coach, right? So whatever they're doing right now (w.r.t. Paytons supposed sudden development) is pretty meaningless. Granted, they're cheap so it's probable they'll just keep the interim coach. However, that's yet another sign ... on top of the mountain of signs ... that they're a losing, listless franchise with no center.

You're killing me, Smalls. :banghead:

That's one of the reasons I'd like for that forlorn franchise to get Ayton.

They get a new coach and Ayton this summer, that's a fresh start with a ton of assets and an incredibly diverse core.

I'm cooling on Ayton and wouldn't mind seeing another bad team take that gamble instead of us.

I just hate franchises like the Suns who've had sooo many cracks at the lottery and who have soooo many advantages yet patently refuse to take advantage of them.

Meanwhile you got franchises like ours who've never had it as good as the Suns do.

I wish for their (continued) downfall so, admittedly, I got trigger'd by your comment.

Don't mind me though, I'm seeing a therapist ... but don't tell my wife. Heigh-ohhh! I'm here all week, folks. Tip your waitress.

Well it’s about damn time (therapist)...I’m not as much of a Suns hater...if anything I root for them out in the west to do well. I always liked their style dating back to the days of KJ Horny Chambers and co.

Ok...well...the time..she’s up. That’s all we have for this session kg... Now you listen to me, you’re good enough... you’re smart enough...and doggonitt people like you..(not on squawk or anything but overall). You have a happy and a healthy and same see you same time next week!

Should I be concerned that my therapist is based in Houston? :)

I don't mind seeing PHX win but I won't root for them to win the draft or lottery. They've had their chance(s).

Per NBARadio, MIN is 1-11 in their last 12 road games. Looks like they have mostly road games left ... with no Jimi Butler.

I am very concerned w.r.t. our MIN 1st. Hope some other team falters unexpectedly otherwise the freaking Twolves could conceivably slide right out of the playoffs.

Is "Thibodeau" Cajun for "over-rated"?

Minny has the same number of road vs home games, 9 each.
I'm concerned too but they are 6 games up in the win column over 8 seeded Clippers. The fight for the 8 seed is a race between Clippers, Nuggets and Jazz.
The end of the season is going to be a blood bath.

The Blake trade to Detroit not looking good. Detroit may not make the playoffs, Clippers might AND get a lottery pick. Blake has cooled off, well he's just jacking 3s.
If RJ comes back they may back in. SVG's seat getting warm again.

Good point on that DET deal. It'll be terrible if they end up missing the playoffs which is a distinct possibility.

I think Minny gets in as a 5-8 seed. I don’t think they get home court...but we still get our pick. We good.

For a while there, I thought this kid was a goner for this season.

But he's come on strong of late:

Oh no he’s the real deal. They got the new Matrix in the land of the sun. I still say Danny should have picked Josh over Jason.

I still think Lakers should have picked Jackson over Lonzo.

He'd look damn good next to Brandon Ingram right about now.

Memphis vs Orlando tonight and Orlando is a 8 point favorite. Memphis probably loses their 13th straight game.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
