Bringing Brewer to this trash team/bench makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't think the same if Roberson wasn't injured and/or if we had 1 or 2 good bench players.

Derrick Rose would make no sense. Felton is great at his job.

describing this discussion as a 'waste of time' is bizarre. this is a hot button issue in the nba this year and an important consideration for the future. where westbrook fits in all this considering his drop-off in scoring efficiency amidst the commensurate increase in scoring efficiency league wide seems like a valid discussion to have on a thunder board. i don't want anyone to blindly accept my views. that would be boring. if i had my druthers we would be able to have an honest discussion on this topic here without the usual obfuscation tactics and non sequitors.

this year is the entire point of this exercise! league 3Pr has exploded, league FTr is down this year in particular. the league is moving on a trajectory that i think can be reasonably expected to have some impact on players with westbrook's skill set. other players like john wall have been affected. everyone has had their own theories as to why westbrook's scoring efficiency has plummeted. is it randomness? injury? his kid? who knows. the ongoing paradigm shift on both ends to accommodate players that westbrook decidedly is not seems just as reasonable a thought as any.

I definately don't like the way he comes across, but it's ok to debate. Is he hypocritical? Sure, but just call him on it and back your stance. No need to stage a retirement, or threaten to leave a forum you enjoy being a part of. Westbrook is the man, you just have to accept the good and bad of him. Not sure how anyone likes the Thunder if they dont.

Westbrook's scoring efficiency is down due to age in my opinion. He's still a beast, but he's 29. Ages 27-31 are the peak years for physical performance.

I run 3-4 times per week, and I remember once I hit 30, the muscles were sore for longer periods of time; I was sore more, not saying everyone is like me. But anyone who consistently conducts extreme cardio on a weekly basis can relate.

Not to mention, Westbrook is almost like an NFL running back with how much his body takes a beating in the paint when he drives to the hoop. But that's part of his game and what separates him from everyone else in the league.

early in the year, i proposed the possibility that westbrook was suffering from overuse hangover from the triple double season. not unlike a running back who carries 400 times in one season-- most have a drop-off year the following season.

ultimately i'd say it's important to figure out why this is happening. sheer variance is of course still possible, but imo less and less likely the more it continues this year. and any explanation that isn't variance could have severe consequences.

And even only arguing this year the league still hasn't passed him by or whatever the claim is. Boston is a worse offense with Irving. Portland with Lillard. And on.

But I digress.

Yes he's having a worse year. And is still the 3rd best in the league. The problem is what most figured it did be, the bench. At least most nights. And now without Dre the wing depth.

At 60 games in there's really not.much more to analyze.

http://more.bleacherreport.com/articles/2762062-derrick-roses-nba-future-is-officially-in-jeopardy
There's a hope within Rose's camp that the Oklahoma City Thunder—down a guard with the loss of Andre Roberson and looking for any edge they can find to contend with the Golden State Warriors and/or Houston Rockets in the postseason—may still come calling. As of Wednesday, there was no traction there, sources said.

Presti's gonna **** around and sign him as well. Get the super team back together.

I’m sure a guy who didn’t mesh well with Lebron would be great with Russ and Melo.

Just imagine what kind of lineups we could run.

Russ-Rose-Brewer-Melo-Grant

That would be unstoppable.

Corey Brewer is shooting 18 % from 3 and has a higher TS% than Melo this season. His 54.3 % from 2 point range would also rank 4th on this team among those qualifying for the MP/G leaderboard.

Well, wouldn't he be a better bench piece than Singler ?

IF, IF, he could put himself in a much more quieter role, behind Russ, maybe he could somehow find his grove, or atleast a piece of it.

If we really want to make a run, maybe in a game or two his 5-10 minutes performance would put us over the edge ...

Its not like we have GSW type of franchise where FA's are running for a vet minimums ...

Interesting that his FT % is down.

He has a good stroke but some of the shot selection has been poor throughout his career. But in his MVP year, he obviously made a lot of those big shots.

Is it that he shoots more pull up 3s than catch and shoot 3s? He doesn't seem to move without the ball much.

How you gonna waive Kilpatrick to sign Shabazz if you're Milwaukee? I'd rather have Kilpatrick than Brewer tbh

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
