Derwin James - DB - Seminoles

Kyle Posey of FanRag Sports ranks Florida State S Derwin James as the top prospect worth trading up for.

James has received lots of mock draft love in the 17-25 range, which Posey mentions. The difference is, Posey feels there's not reason for the safety to "fall" that far, believing he shouldn't leave the top 10. "Don’t listen to anyone who says he can’t cover," he writes. "They haven’t watched him. James is a star. James moves like a corner. He can stay with small shifty slot receivers or big tight ends. As a tackler, he does a great job of squaring up and wrapping ballcarriers to the ground." It seems like James is currently being viewed as a high-floor player, with some questions about his upside. If Posey is correct -- and there's a good chance -- those concerns will become invalid.

Depending on his combine workout...I'm extremely interested in him as an outside CB in our scheme. Big, physical press corner that can freaking cover. Look at his game against Syracuse. Plays a lot of CB and does it well. http://draftbreakdown.com/2017/11/13/derwin-james-vs-syracuse-2017/

Josh Rosen - QB - Player

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline passes along "speculation" that the Dolphins prefer UCLA QB Josh Rosen if they're able to trade up for a quarterback in the draft.

The Dolphins have been linked heavily to Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield the past month or two. They very well may like both quarterbacks, and Pauline believes Dolphins EVP Mike Tannenbaum wants to "mimic" close friend Howie Roseman's plan with the Eagles by trading up and "making a bold move for a young quarterback and striking gold" like Roseman did for Carson Wentz. "Several in the league" believe Miami will use Jarvis Landry as ammo to move up from No. 11.

Vita Vea - DL - Huskies

NFL Network's Mike Mayock says Washington DT Vita Vea is a superior prospect to Dontari Poe coming into the NFL.

"He's a dancing bear. He's a freak. He's 340 pounds and everybody says he's going to run a sub-5.0 40," Mayock said of Vea. "The last defensive lineman to do that was Dontari Poe. He went at No. 11. Vea is a better player than Poe was coming out of college. More advanced. He's a plug-and-play nose tackle in any scheme. If he runs 4.85 or 4.9 at 342 pounds, to me that's more impressive than watching John Ross run 4.22." He's not wrong about any of this. But at present time, Vea has been going in the Nos. 10-20 range in most mocks. Vea will make his case for a top-10 call this weekend in Indy.

Leighton Vander Esch - LB - Broncos

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler notes the Steelers have begun their "due diligence" on Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch.

We wouldn't get too worked up over this. Every team is in the early stages of evaluations and are interested in spending time, interview, working out and visiting with hundreds of prospects. Vander Esch absolutely fills a need for the Steelers, who need a starting inside linebacker, and preferably one with speed.

Billy Price - C - Buckeyes

The Vikings already put Ohio State OL Billy Price through a formal interview, according to beat writer Darren Wolfson.

The Vikings drafted Price's former teammate in Pat Elflein last offseason and it paid off in a big way. Nick Easton ended the season with an injury and the future of Joe Berger is up in the air. Mike Remmers could be moved inside, but many believe Price is a plug and play type who has experience at guard and center.

Sam Darnold - QB - Trojans

Cleveland Browns GM John Dorsey said that he would entertain trade offers for the No. 1 pick in the draft.

"My door is wide open. If somebody wants to come up and talk to me about a trade, I'm willing to trade," Dorsey said while at the NFL Scouting Combine. Cleveland owns both the No. 1 and No. 4 picks this spring. The conventional wisdom is that they will likely select a quarterback with the first overall selection -- they'll be meeting with all the top signal-callers in the coming days -- but if nothing else, no harm in keeping at least the possibility of a trade on the table.

Saquon Barkley put up 29 reps on the bench. If the number holds up when it becomes "official", it'll be tied for 13th most by a RB since 2006. Had he got to 30, it would've been tied for 6th most since 2006. For the record, he has gotten 30 before (7 months ago).

This should not come as a surprised for anyone; if you followed him closely throughout his collegiate career. This kid does film studies as good as any prospect that has entered the league in recent years. He’s a gym rat too.

Christian Kirk - WR - Aggies

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell passes along that Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk has been excelling in interviews at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"Not only has Kirk been excellent in the team interviews, but his college coaching staff have raved about him to scouts and NFL coaches," Campbell writes. The Aggies wideout checked into the combine measuring 5-foot-10 3/8 inches, 201 pounds with a a respectable hand measurement of 9 7/8 inches, an arm length of 30 3/8 inches and a wingspan of 72 2/8 inches. Already rocking his interviews, he's a player who should test well in addition.

Billy Price - C - Buckeyes

Ohio State C Billy Price suffered an apparent injury while participating in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday.

Per Eleven Warriors' Dan Hope, the 6-foot-3, 305-pound Price "lifted the bar only two or three times" before begging out in pain. He subsequently exited with a medical attendant. We'll have to wait to see the exact extent and nature of the injury, but Price's availability for the remainder of athletic testing this weekend is now an open question. He's one of the top center prospects in the 2018 draft class.

Billy Price - C - Buckeyes

MMQB's Albert Breer reports that Ohio State C Billy Price sustained a torn pec while taking part in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Price (6'3/305) was expected to dominate in the bench press on Thursday, but it instead ended in disaster for the Ohio State standout. He sustained the reported pectoral tear on his third rep, after which he stopped in visible pain before being escorted out of the room by a medial attendant. The offensive lineman will wait on the result of an MRI for confirmation. It's not yet known if Price will need to undergo surgery, but the injury's one that could certainly prove problematic for a Day 1 selection. He's considered by some to be the top center prospect in the 2018 class. We'll pass along updates on his outlook as information becomes available.

He's listed at 6'5. but he's probably 6'4.

I say 6’3 and a quarter.

And the winner is....

Notre Dame WR Equanmeous St. Brown measured 6-foot-4 6/8 inches and 214 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Just shy of 6'5.

Hot take: this guy is the best WR in the entire draft.

Virginia Tech G Wyatt Teller recorded an unofficial 30 reps in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Teller (6'4/311) with a very respectable showing. It's not quite up to Quenton Nelson's masterful 35 reps from earlier on Thursday, but per the NFL Network, last year's guards were averaging just 27 on the bench press. Teller was an inconsistent performer during the past campaign, but showed better in 2016. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein stamps him a grade for Rounds 6-7.

Auburn G Braden Smith unofficially recorded 35 reps in the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Smith matched the mark put up by Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson, though Will Hernandez of UTEP has since topped the both of them with 37 hoists of the bar. NFL Media's Lance Zierlein writes that Smith is "built like a bank safe." He checked into the combine measuring 6-foot-6, 315 pounds. Agility drills will matter for him in Indianapolis as he tries to convince the NFL he's worth a Day 2 selection.

People are catching on how good he is. Dude's strong, plays low & is good in pass protection. He might go in the early 2nd. :(

If Rosen is there for the 49ers we should just draft him. the Packers took Aaron Rodgers with Favre there and sat him. and Rosen could sit behind Garopollo would be great. you could never have enough great Quarterbacks as we saw with Foles. and you keep a Trade Chip for a team that you can get a Hershall Walker kind of deal. I like it.
