Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
He was great yesterday. Super high IQ on both ends. I don't think he did this in Portland - but now his big games don't just mean he's extra hot from 3.
He's been attacking the rim off the catch, off cuts and even off the dribble. He'll never have D'Lo or LeVert like handles but he's big and fast. When he attacks in straight lines, he usually gets to the rim. Guys REALLY respect his shot too.
We're starting to see flashes of why the staff loves him. He can hit high degree of difficulty 3s. He's defending and rebounding. He's playing a very solid overall game. Attacking the rim, shooting from mid range.
He still needs to get more aggressive in the PNR. And be more active moving without the ball consistently. PNR thing is really a confidence thing. He's really afraid of traps or the pressure of hedges.

He's really closed out the pre-ASB as well as you could imagine. not just good games but a big part of some near miraculous comebacks. his confidence is sky high. hopefully its a sign of things to come

Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
I think there needs to be a concerted effort from the coaching staff and also the three primary ball handlers (Spencer, Russell, LeVert) to get Crabbe the ball in the 4th.
We're starting to see flashes of what Marks may have been thinking about when he first targeted Crabbe. Lets hope he keeps up the aggressive play.

Its almost as if developing a player takes time, and isn't an over night change. Guarantee you a lot of people will be eating their words about Crabbe before his contact is up.

We've been seeing flashes all season (especially on the defensive end). All of his per game numbers have gone up vs. last year without a minutes increase, he just hasn't shot as well. As he gets more comfortable in this system this is what he'll look like when he's shooting 40% from deep, it just may take some time before he figures out how to be efficient. When he first entered the starting line up in November he shot 42% from deep, though there weren't as many injuries so he wasn't get up quite as many shots as he has the past few games. I'm hoping he ends up settling in around 15 ppg with a good shooting %. I don't think it's realistic to maintain the rate he's been on the past few games but who knows.

Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
The perception of guys like Crabbe, Bazemore, etc. (legit, good NBA players) will follow the Carroll cycle.
1) He's a must have 3&D FA: Great Get
2) 6 months to a year in: What a toxic contract. - This peaks in year 2.
3) 1.5 years left on the contract: Overpaid yes, but he can help a playoff team & only has a year left after this one. Teams are calling & definitely interested.
4) He's a great lockerroom guy & a 3&D player on a big expiring. He's a top trade target for many teams.
5) Contract over, cycle back to #1.

Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
I'm not convinced he can sustain it, but if the Crabbe of the last 6 games becomes the Crabbe of the future, the contract looks much less obscene.

This is a pretty solid prediction. Courtney Lee followed this cycle as well.

AC was the team's leading scorer vs the Bulls with 21 points on 7 for 13 shooting 4-9 from 3pt.
3-3 at the foul line 3 rebounds 1 assist and 1 steal in a win!

Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
Allen Crabbe continues to impress on defense and he is no longer settling on offense. he had some huge drives late in the Cavs game.
Allen Crabbe is beginning to become a two way player. A good summer of work with the staff could yield an exciting 2018-19 for Allen Crabbe at SF.

Yes. He was 0-6 on 3 pt attempts in the Cavs game. But he was 5-6 on two pointers. That he is expanding his offensive game is what is important to me this year.

Yep. he didn't even hesitate either. he put the ball on the floor and went for the score. the game is much more simpler for him now that he realizes that he doesn't have to be scared when guys rush at him at the 3pt line. blow right by them and either pull up or drive in hard for the lay up.

Allen has averaged 31.0 points the last two games for Brooklyn.

Re: The Official Allen Crabbe Thread
Yahoo article on Hornets game
"Crabbe has 159 3-pointers this season, 10 shy of the team record set by Deron Williams in 2013."
''I think it's cool, but the bigger picture for us is to develop as a team and that's all it about and it wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for my teammates and everyone played a part in helping me get there,'' Crabbe said.
Coach Kenny Atkinson said Crabbe is getting back to being aggressive - really aggressive, he said - and that his teammates are giving him a big assist.
''We screened for him. You have to screen for great shooters,'' Atkinson said. ''And then our point guards Deangelo (Russell), and Spencer (Dinwiddie), and Caris (Levert), they found him for shots. It's all got to work together for him to play well.'' '

Amazing performance! This team has been clicking the past few nights! Crabbe making the most out of 15 attempts really unlocks the game for everyone else. He's shows potential to turn into the Nets' very own Middleton
