It’s not even about that though honestly and you know that.

Kg was known for doing stuff like this frequently. Maybe not exactly ejection worthy but he was the king of the mental aspect of the game and anything he could do to “out a$$hole” you, he would do.

This is about the old guard vs the new guard. Jimmy was cold towards Rubio from day 1 so to me he obviously wasn’t feeling how much adulation fans had over someone who had left. Fans still feel that way and it seems as if Jimmy doesn’t care for it. Fans just need to get over the previous era (flip, Rubio, Zach, tanking) and fully support this team. If they did Teague wouldn’t have went crazy and jimmy wouldnt be on twitter.

I mean even look at your last comment. You’re saying you’d take a guy who’s never done anything but represent longevity. Over an mvp candidate in jimmy butler? You don’t think that’s annoying to hear from Butlers POV?

I get that but I’m sure members of the current team (Teague, Jimmy) are sick of being treated like the enemy. When the actual enemy (anyone not in a wolves jersey) is treated with more respect. In this case Rubio, in other cases Markenen or Zach.

Totally agree and someone saying Rubio is more Minnesota than Butler I guess means Rubio is more of a loser (Minny been losers for over a decade) than Jimmy which I also agree with.

this is getting very stupid

there isn't that many active fans that post in forums or reddit or social media that a player would see

maybe 250?

get out of the bubble if you think it really matters

Or jimmy has been treated like an enemy at moments during the season ? Like the Chicago and Brooklyn game when he made mistakes during crunch time?

Guys check their social mentions often. Keeps them intune with the fans whether they are active on social media or not.

Crazy seeing so many so called fans of the TWolves not backing there guys (Teague, jimmy) and still knob gobbling a loser PG in Rubio WHO NEVER WON anything in Minny. TWolves are still on pace for 45+ wins and playoffs or not that is a great achievement since MIN has not won 45 games since KG was MVP in 2004.

Love was a very hard player to cheer for (despite his frequent brilliance) and forced his way out. Ricky came in as a sweet kid and played his ass off every minute despite his limitations and injuries. Totally different.

he was supporting his teammate. teague taking his frustrations out on rubio was not because it was rubio, but because the refs allowed the jazz to scratch and grab all night. its fine if its being called both ways, but it wasn't.

Teague is treated like an overpaid and overrated PG that he is, always been like that, even before he was a Wolves. Jimmy is the guy i wanted for 3 years, he's the real difference for this Timberwolves team being so well in the standings. Without him we would be a below .500 team.

You probably can't find anyone that defended more than me the Jimmy trade before it actually happend.

This BS is just stupid, i would like to see Jimmy going after guys like Harden for so much flopping, that would be fun, against Rubio?
For what?

You know this is not the first time Jeff Teague does this right?

No need to pretend like the entire state of Minnesota hasn’t made it clear that Rubio is basically more important to wolves than the current roster excluding Kat.... guys have twitter/ig and read their mentions. So jimmy knows the deal....

2 things to say

1. Teagues truck on Rubio was a reaction to all the hate he’s received all season. He clearly wanted a win tonight and clearly wanted to kick rubios a$$ on offense. The jazz got like 90% of their calls at the rim and Teague wanted his foul before the truck. With that said it wasn’t more than a 50-50 call. The ref was fine in not calling it, but I’m sure in teagues mind it should have been a foul. And then all his twitter and IG mentions crosses his mind and he has a moment. Atleast he went out with some fire.

2. This is a great moment for all Minnesota fans. I think all year it’s been pretty clear the fans have been split down the middle. The new era (push for playoffs. Thibs. Teague. Jimmy) and the old era (tank. Zach. Ricky. Saunders). This should really force people to be more open about what side they are. Jimmy on twitter said to Jae crowder “get away from MY coach” and someone said Rubio is more Minnesota then jimmy. So I guess the question now is what side are you on? Hopefully this will encourage fans to be MORE FANS of this team and less fans of the previous era.

I’m glad it went down this way. Wanted a win but losing Kat was a tough strike. Time to fight and lock up a playoff spot. How the team responds to tonight’s game will tell us a lot about everyone’s character. Kat and Wiggins especially.

So a cheap-shot flagrant foul is supposed to win me over to the Jeff Teague side?

and a significantly better player than Ricky. But people were pissed butler wouldn’t let Ricky in the locker room, so I’m not surprised a little cheap shot is an absolute insult.

I agree, that play isn't about the fans and social media. Teague just got frustrated and did something dumb, it happens. Obviously Jimmy is going to have his back, especially after Crowder started acting like a clown. People are making too much of this whole thing.

Looks like Jimmy was tweeting live from the Wolves watch party...

I think Rubio wearing a Jazz jersey and Teague wearing a Timberwolves jersey should win you over to the Jeff Teague side, I mean if you're a Minnesota fan.

The gymnastics that people are performing in this thread to try to make this a "picking sides" issue are pretty impressive.

That hit on Ricky Rubio was disgusting and dangerous; Jimmy Butler not only condoning the behaviour (but rather ENDORSING it) is equally gross, and strongly disappoints me as a fan.

Are you going to tell me that I am against Jimmy Butler after my extensive post history supporting him? All because I find him to be a phenomenal basketball player in no way means I am going to say "yeah, you get them, guys!" What is going on here is **** absurd, and my post history showcases my consistency on dirty plays like that (my only official RealGM warning is because of me unloading about Draymond Green on the General Board).

As Wolves fans are saying Rubio is more Minnesotan than him on Twitter. This fan base can be mind boggling.
