Kyrie and horford were absolutely putrid in all areas tonight. I stand by this being Kyries worst game as a Celtic. Terrible shooting percentages, some DUMB turnovers, complete lack of defense, missed the game icing lay up, and the complete debacle where he couldn’t miss one free throw in two separate tries. Just a terrible game. This loss is on his shoulders with horford not too far behind.

There goes the 1 seed. 3 back in the loss column now, and the raptors are on one hell of a stretch with an easy schedule to close out their last 20 games.

Ass of shame? Are you kidding me?

We were playing the second best team in the league on the road, with them having won 14 straight.

Losing at the end like that sucked, but I didn’t expect us to even be in a position to win to be honest.

watched the game and looked at the box score there isn't much to change. c's played smart ball and was wise to not get into the free throw penalty in the 4th. yeh 12-2 4th qtr melt-down killed them, i like our chances in a series. go c's!

I have been as high on Tatum as anyone, but Smart was about 5 times better than him tonight.

Horrible post lol.

Yes. Ass of shame. Clearly me and you have 2 different views of this team. The Celtics have beaten every team ranked in the top 7 in total rankings. We have the 4th best record in basketball. We have the best defense in basketball. We’re a team with finals aspirations.

Tonight though? Our two stars had the worst +/- on the team. Kyrie was terrible, particularly down the stretch. We had a 6pt lead with close to 2 minutes left and choked so bad that the rockets finished on a 12-2 run. That deserves an ass of shame in my book.

Any time a team blows a 6pt lead in a game they led damn near wire to wire, by committing bad turnovers, missing lay ups, playing poor defense, making dumb decisions, and allowing a team to go on a 12-2 run to close out the game, yea I’d say that deserves an ass of shame.

If Kyrie plays to his averages, this is an easy Celtic win. He deserves an ass of shame for what I think was his worst game of the season.

I've been really pleased with Marcus' floor generalship since he came back. Not taking a lot of bad shots. Making good passes. And a really nice developing story is him showing recognition of when to aggressively drive the basketball and get into the paint.

Horford being overpaid, not going to say I told you so.

Also new agenda, have people apologize to Marcus Morris? Asking for a friend.

Reactionary? Yes, I’m reacting to watching the Celtics completely poop their pants in the final 2 minutes of a game they should have won. Kyrie makes that layup, your talking an 8pt lead with around 2 minutes to play. That should have iced it. That was just one of the many bad plays from Kyrie tonight. He was awful. Couldn’t shoot, couldnt defend, forced passes, committed turnovers, and he couldn’t even miss a free throw on two separate tries. He played terribly, especially down the stretch.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but reacting to the game we just watched is the point of a post game thread right?

Horford was absolutely garbage. I’m normally not one to bash him but he was useless tonight. Couldn’t grab a rebound, barely did a thing offensively and was absolutely useless anytime someone drove at him. Was happy to concede baskets. Kyrie was bad as well.

Still, Houston are a very good team. But **** I cannot stand their style of play and Harden’s ridiculous attempts on almost every possession to get to the line. The Warriors will make a meal of them when it counts.

Yea how about a timeout there for horford instead of throwing it away, or maybe take a guard who isn’t a good defender to the hole. I’m with you I usually don’t bash Al either because he does so much and basically is what he is, but Jesus be a man.

Maybe we tanked the game on purpose or the refs wanted us to lose so the league could keep hyping up the Rockets win streak so the west stays "competitive looking" for ratings.

Reacting? Fine. Being WAY TOO reactionary? No bueno. My God man. Sometimes a REALLY good team, at home, that's older, more experienced, and way more familiar with each other because they've played together longer, just makes a couple of plays more than you. It happens. Shocking, I know.

But that’s not what happened? If that was what happened I’d be fine. I was perfectly fine with the loss at golden state earlier in the year. Both teams played hard, but the older, more experienced team won that game in a nail biter. That was one of the best games the c’s played all year, despite losing.

This game though? We just choked. Ending the game by giving up a 12-2 run, after being up 6 with two minutes to play, isn’t the same as the scenario that you described. Kyrie was absolutely terrible down the stretch. He missed a layup, committed a terrible turnover on a bad pass, allowed a layup by ariza in transition, and gave up a corner 3 to Gordon, all in the last 3 minutes. He was bad all night, as his plus/minus indicates, but he was even worse down the stretch. Which is why this is a horrible loss. A horrible loss that I’m reacting to. Which is what this thread is for.

There’s a big difference between the loss at golden state, and this loss tonight. The one at golden state was much closer to the scenario you laid out here. This loss tonight was just us blowing it in pathetic fashion.

We should have won tonight. Period.
