Looks like 6-11. They might pull out 7-10.

Re: Predict the W/L for the Remaining Schedule
Since Robes went down, we're 2-6 vs teams above .500. This could get ugly, espeically since we play 11 straigh games vs. +.500 teams.

7-10 seems as good as possible. I’m hoping for worse. Someone needs to be accountable for what might go down as one of the bigger failed experiments in nba history.

This might sound idiotic, but one could argue that we could feel better about this season if the team 'imploded'. If it's a failure, at least it should be a proper failure, not bull like this. We're basically stuck in the middle, being too talented for being really, but also being too poorly coached and constructed to be actually good.

The worst case scenario to to make the playoffs just to get swept. At least missing it keeps a draft pick. If it weren’t for injuries to the spurs and wolves, this wouldn’t even be a question. As it stands, we might make the playoffs If we finish 5-12. You mentioned Presti would never trade russ. I think Bennett feels the same way about Presti. What’s most likely is that we are the exact same team next year minus George. If russ is actually declining, that should put us as a top ten pick at worst.

Yay. Fun times ahead.

I'm going to start with games I think are scheduled wins:
vs. Memphis
vs. Sacramento
vs. San Antonio
@ San Antonio
vs. Phoenix
vs. Atlanta (I'll be at this one! Yay!)
That's 6 wins I think we will at least get:
Scheduled losses:
@ Houston
vs. Warriors
vs. Houston
vs. Toronto
The rest are toss-ups. With the way the Russ is playing right now, any game could go anyway.
My prediction is: 9 wins - 8 losses. That will put us at a 46-36 record which feels about right.

ESPN now has
3rd POR
4th MIN
4th SAS
4th NOP
7th OKC
8th DEN
Honestly? 3-6 or lottery. Getting swept in the 1st round and losing the pick would be the worst case scenario.

Re: Predict the W/L for the Remaining Schedule
Why hasnt presti fired donovan yet? Since game 1 against the knicks the offense was just iso, iso, pick and roll, and if that doesnt work screw it. Its ridiculous they need a coach with authority thats not afraid to challenge russ, melo, or PG for the mistakes they make. Robersons injury is bad enough and hid a lot of the issues but seriously the main issue is Donovan theres no getting around that. Dont even get me started with the rotations, I feel like hes losing on purpose at times.

It’s both the worst case and most likely scenario.

Donovan is Presti's buddy. He ain't firing him unless ownership forces him to.

I'm honestly expecting the 9th seed for the first time
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

It’s both the worst case and most likely scenario.
Well, even if we got 6th, Portland owns us. We are screwed all around.

I just have to ask, what do you do for work?

I went to law school and am I now starting my legal clerkship. For the last ~2 years I was writing my dissertation while also working part time at a law firm. With tax law, knowing Excel comes in handy. I've been doing a lot of compliance work for clients, filing tax returns, checking assesments for errors, combing through huge spreadsheets provided by foreign corps, etc. You gotta know your way around Excel and numbers in general for that kind of work. Although I have to say I was using Excel for basketball stats and stuff way before I started my research assistant job there.

I knew there had to be a correlation in their somewhere. Nice work.

Re: Predict the W/L for the Remaining Schedule
If we play with any sense of urgency in these next 4 they should be wins, and I think we do.
Home vs. Spurs - WIN.
Home vs. Kings - WIN.
Road vs. Hawks - WIN.
Home vs. Clippers - WIN.
We have the firepower to steal one of these games but don't count on it imo. If we will win one of these, it's against Boston.
Road vs. Raptors - LOSS.
Road vs. Celtics - LOSS.
This is the stretch that matters. All games against teams we're fighting for position with except Miami. OKC will show up. 4-1. I just can't believe that we'll get swept by Portland or New Orleans. Both are going to cool off. No way they can sustain winning at rates similar to the Warriors and Rockets, especially New Orleans.
Home vs. Heat - WIN.
Home vs. Portland - WIN.
Road vs. Spurs - LOSS.
Home vs. Nuggets - WIN.
Road vs. Pelicans - WIN.
It's possible to beat the Warriors again. Could see us taking that one, but possibly losing to the Heat. If the season comes down to the last day for standings, and we are a game up on anybody, having the Grizzlies as our last game is a big advantage.
Home vs. Warriors - LOSS.
Road vs. Rockets - LOSS.
Road vs. Heat - WIN.
Home vs. Memphis - WIN.
If I'm correct in predicting 10-5, I would call the home stretch a success. I'm pretty optimistic. 8-7 is the worst I think we will finish the season.
