Derwin James - DB - Seminoles
Florida State S Derwin James says the Dallas Cowboys will need to trade up if they want to pick him.
On Sunday, James was asked about Cowboys fans posting photos of him in a Cowboys jersey on social media. He responded: "I think it's a good compliment, but I don't think I'll go that late. I feel like once I come out and show people what I can do, and once I'm done with these meetings, I feel like they'd have to trade up to get me." Dallas owns the No. 19 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. So far, the 6-foot-3, 213-pounder has gone through formal interviews at the NFL Combine with the Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings, but not the Cowboys. "Safety and slot corner (nickelback), those are the two positions most teams are talking about," James said. "... They moved me around a lot (at FSU). I can do it all -- I can play deep, I can play the tight end, I can play in the box, I can blitz, whatever you need."

Derwin James - DB - Seminoles
Florida State S Derwin James ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine.
James measured into the combine at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds and proceeded to crush athletically. That started with the bench press -- where he put up 21 reps -- and continued on Monday. Not only did James excel in the 40-yard dash, he did likewise with the vertical leap, where he notched a 40-inch jump. This was the kind of impressive showing that we expected to see from the safety in this setting. The future Round 1 pick has put in formal interviews with the Seahawks, Raiders, 49ers, Packers, Chargers and Vikings while in Indianapolis.
