His minutes should go to Isaac and Mario, but I'd be OK with giving them to Wes and Afflalo for the tank.yoyojw17 wrote:TANK!!!! lol Keep him out for precaution for the rest of the season.
Evan: "Guys i'm fine"
WeHam *kicks him in the knee*.... yes both of them at the same time. With Fournier once again sidelined, the Magic will turn to Wesley Iwundu and Arron Afflalo to replace his production. Both players have been used sparingly off the bench this season, so head coach Frank Vogel will need them to get accustomed to more playing time if the Magic are going to finish the season strong.

I only saw the first half, but losses like these give me hope for the future. The Magic keep losing, but they are playing with heart. The team is simply outgunned, but I like that they are fighting for wins. This is best case scenario if they keep losing. Evan being out is huge.

I think the team should sit out and protest the next game, or 20, in response to this blown call. Someone needs to make a stand!

I didn't watch this game, but I'm guessing the Lakers just wanted to help us tank so we can get the No. 1 pick and then they sign him in six years or so.

Re: Gamethread: Magic @ Lakers 03/07
Remember last year when the clock started improperly on a Terrence Ross shot (as a Raptor), on a very similar type of situation, and they decided to overlay a digital clock on the replay and determined that the shot was no good? And Raptors fans were irate about it (and rightfully so). Why not use the same ruling here to determine that the clock would have expired regardless and just end the game? What makes this situation different to the point where we go to a jump ball? They literally just make stuff up sometimes. Make a rule, a CLEAR rule, and stick with it. Stop this nonsense where we make different s*** up at the end of games depending on what the mood is.

According to referee Bill Spooner (who threw the jump ball at the end):
Lol this rule is so ripe for exploitation, it's almost baffling how it exists.
“The rule is 13E-9-2, and anytime there is either an inadvertent whistle and/or a horn when the ball is in the air, there's no possession and we go center circle, jump ball"

Outdated rule from before they started using replay. No reason to have it now. Just make it so they can review in the last 2 minutes like any out of bounds play.

Re: Gamethread: Magic @ Lakers 03/07
Except they redo the inbound all the time throughout the course of a game. How many times a night do you see a team inbound the ball, start dribbling up the court, and the ref stops the game because the shot clock isn't moving. Oh, ok, that's different because it's not "in the air." Like it matters. Besides, forget all of that. Forget i just wrote that. We've seen situations like last night where the ruling has been different. It's not an every day thing, but it's not like this is the first time a play like that has ever happened. But last night IS the first time we've ever had it result in a game-ending jump ball. Bill Spooner is full of it.

I just watched the highlights and Vuc got punked by Lonzo. Couldn't even body him on a favorable switch. Lonzo isn't even known for his athleticism and he still got him.

I dare the refs do that to the Cavs, Rockets, Warriors of the league. They wouldn't. It would be a replay of the possession. Bottom feeder teams that are losing and not making the league money are the only ones who would get that call where it's a jump ball.
If this were the Dwight Howard Magic, we would have been able to make a play again.

Re: Gamethread: Magic @ Lakers 03/07
At least the NBA acknowledged the mistake:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22695265/last-two-minute-report-acknowledges-refs-blew-late-call-helped-lakers-preserve-win-magic
"The inbound pass, referees were reasonably certain that there was a clock malfunction and triggered an Instant Replay under Rule 13.1.a.5," the Two Minute Report said. "After review, it is confirmed that the game clock was inadvertently started by the referee crew and that time expired before the ball was touched. The clock is correctly reset to 0:00.6. However, since the pass was still in the air when the clock expired, the ball was still in ORL's possession and thus ORL should have retained possession on the sideline at the nearest spot. Had the ball been touched by LAL prior to the expiration of the clock, it would have been considered a loose ball and the jump ball ruling would have been correct."
"Xatticus has always been, in my humble opinion best poster here. Should write articles or something."
