PA18 a district that won't exist in the midterms has drawn national attention. There will be consequences drawn in the Conor Lamb D versus Rick Saccone R matchup. If Conor Lamb wins it will reflect on Nancy Pelosi's leadership since Lamb has distanced himself from her in Centralist Campaign. If Saccone loses or wins by a small margin the it reflects badly on Trump since he is campaigning for Saccone on Saturday and this is a district he won by over 19%.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-the-pennsylvania-special-election-could-matter-to-trump-and-pelosi/

The two polls reported by 538 put the candidates in a virtual tie but a 3rd gives Lamb a 4% and turnout and enthusiasm will be the turning point to give Lamb the edge. Unrelated to the story it will give VP. Biden's more centralist approach a advantage over the Bernie wing.

Democrat Conor Lamb leads Republican Rick Saccone by 48 percent to 44 percent in a survey conducted by RABA Research, a bipartisan firm. That would mark a huge upset in a conservative district that stretches from Pittsburgh to the West Virginia border that President Trump won by 20 points in 2016. It would give Democrats their first House special election victory of the Trump era on Tuesday night.

The Koch brothers have become the protector of the little guy! :usa:

When large companies can pressure politicians to force everyday Americans to fork over unearned millions, we should all question the fairness of the system. […]
To include millions more of our people in true economic progress, our lawmakers must act on behalf of all Americans—not just the privileged few.

Maybe we misjudged them? :onfire:

Uh-huh. He really, really wrote that, after the Kochs spent more than $20 million on the Republican tax scam that will net them more than $1 billion in tax cuts. They gave a fund-raising committee that supports Paul Ryan, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and a pro-Ryan PAC $500,000 to get that tax law, a law that's going to cause plenty of everyday Americans to "fork over unearned millions when the few provisions benefiting them expire in a few years.
:violin:

They were definitely against Trump on increasing tariffs on aluminum and steel since it effects negatively on a number of there businesses. But were perfectly happy with tariff on Canadian Pulp and Softwood Lumber since it benefited Georgia Pacific in raising prices to the consumer.

I actually felt sorry for the Trumpster this morning!

His world must feel like it's caving in with everyone against him.
Republicans on steel & aluminum tariffs
International community ready to impose tariffs
The Stormy fiasco
But what he should fear most is Robert Mueller :lift:

Mueller is working rapidly and is like a card shark when he interviews people he already has all the aces. What has leaked to the press, would only be the tip of the iceberg. The most damning stuff has been kept secret to protect sources and methods. But the Mueller indictments actually hint that evidence runs much deeper than what has been publicly revealed so far.
He has the entire US intelligence apparatus at his disposal. When he calls someone in for an interview, he often already has something on them, something he knows they will lie about. Then when they lie, he has them... they've perjured themselves, and he has the documents or SIGINT to prove it. They have to flip and become a cooperating witness, otherwise they go down for the lie as well as the thing they lied about."

Trump supporters were describing Mueller's indictments as a bunch of 'nothing-burgers' or saying that there must be no evidence of collusion. Intelligence services have evidence of collusion with Russians by members of the Trump campaign, mostly in the form of SIGINT (signal intelligence, i.e. foreign wire taps). It was that SIGINT, both by our intel agencies and by our allies, that caused the investigation to kick off in the first place.

Right now it is connecting the dots and crossing the tees a slow drip, drip of more indictments getting more individuals trapped in the web of there own complicity. The ultimate target is the Trumpster himself. If I was him I would be checking countries that don't have extradition treaties with the USA.

The Stormy Waters story is turning into a full fledged hurricane. Frankly what Trump did as a private citizen and not a candidate or President is his own business. Obviously with the exception of inappropriate advances and harassment against women (over 10 women have came forward). If he wants to pay a hooker or porn star or watch girls pee on the bed Obama slept in rather juvenile but that's his business. Hell his born again army would forgive him. He found "GOD" his sins are washed away.
But the Stormy Waters hush money was during the campaign and when and how are very much a gray area.
But an email uncovered in the last 24 hours and provided to NBC News by Clifford's current attorney, Michael Avenatti, shows First Republic Bank and Cohen communicated about the money using his Trump company email address, not his personal gmail account.

"I think this document seriously calls into question the prior representation of Mr. Cohen and the White House relating to the source of the monies paid to Ms. Clifford in an effort to silence her," said Avenatti, who is representing Clifford in a lawsuit against Trump.

"The $130,000 question, however, is from whose account was the money transferred on Oct. 26, 2017." Avenatti said.

He said the email "suggests" it might have been a Trump Organization account since the correspondence was through Cohen's Trump email. He said it was "curious" that after he got the email, he immediately forwarded it to his personal gmail and then used gmail to forward it to Davidson, presumably to show the money was ready to be wired.

"Mr. Cohen should immediately provide the prior emails [between him and the bank] to show exactly where the money came from," Avenatti said.

Cammac, no-matter what Mueller drops on Trump, Republicans have already laid the groundwork for killing any impeachment effort that may arise...and Trump is the master of deflection, he could skate completely.

Frankly I don't care about impeachment would rather keep him in power till the end of his term. He will be a huge drag on the Republican party in both 2018 & 2020. When he loses and is a private citizen a multiple of charges can be laid against him.

Democrats need to take control of the House and Senate and proceedings will begin. Show up for the midterms people. Put petty differences aside.

Can't open the link to actually read the memo, and just assume that “Dreamers [voting as Democrats are a] critical component of the Democratic Party’s future electoral success,” is not actually what the memo says. That seems a safe bet based upon past right wing abridgments of reality, which some people just eat up.

the man came to washington DC with a clear plan. of clear mind. and 50 years of international business acumen. and it shows. a politician he is not. a negotiator he certainly is. and he knows wtf he is doing. unlike obama and clinton that just wanted to be in office and their idea of governing was appeasement to everyone.
