The current conversation is not really about the thread title. I’m just curious what pacer fans think his value is. If he was a free agent this summer, what kind of pay day would he get? I don’t watch enough pacer games to know.

Well, if Aaron Gordon is a probable max player, then I would say Turner probably is too.

Turner's scoring has been down recently, but his rebounding has been up. Swings and roundabouts.

I don't think Turner has disappointed exactly. It's more that he was expected to become the featured scorer after the PG trade, and that never happened. Instead, he's 4th(!) on the team in shot attempts. His role is different, but that's ok because the Pacers have other scorers. He's been really key for the interior defense. His range and shooting% are also improving.

He's still really young though, so there's still various ways he can go. At minimum, he's a 3-and-D center already

Everything is relative of course. So is defense, depending on the stats/sources you use and which glasses you wear :)

https://hoopshabit.com/2018/03/06/indiana-pacers-trade-value-domantas-sabonis/

Moreover, the Sabonis/Victor Oladipo combination continues to wreck havoc. Of the 39 Pacers duos to play at least 150 minutes together, their +10.1 net rating is the highest. That it’s been achieved in over 900 minutes shows it’s no fluke.

Most telling is that during the more than 900 minutes Sabonis has played with Victor Oladipo, the team has a 99.8 defensive rating, which would be tops in the league. According to Cleaning The Glass, the overall numbers and defense are far better when Oladipo and Sabonis are on the court without Myles Turner than when he’s out there with them.

I have this guy his glasses 8-)

Myles Turner is a great shotblocker/rim protector who struggles to defend the interior. Sabonis is stronger and smarter without the shotblocking. I prefer Domas, now and for the future.

last night Quinn suggested Turner had to come to terms with it being Victor's team instead of his. I don't think I want to move on, but two firsts might be hard to refuse.

If we got a top 5 pick this year, I’d be happy.

I also heard Quinn mention that. It seemed he was saying Turner was working out the difference between his expectations going into the season, and what the reality of the season has become. Nothing detrimental about it. Just a young guy trying to find his place on the team as it changes. A change in the "pecking order", if you will. If you watch how he interacts with his 'mates on the team, you can see he hasn't let it have a negative effect on their relations. He's just trying to adjust to changing expectations, and it is taking him a while. Not really unexpected for a young pup like him.

It helps that the other guys (Vic and the other guards in particular) do a good job getting him shots and keeping him well involved.

top 10 and a future might satisfy me as my targets are not the centers.

I like the potential of Michael Porter Jr, who would fit in at SF.

I worry about his back. Prefer Mikel Bridges in top 10 but Bates-Diop could be at our pick without a trade. best available Wildcat works too.
