Big game. We got this.
The Otto/Sato combo is so fun to watch. Smart basketball, great spacing and timely cuts. The defense has energy, and the offense has flow. I'm liking what the team has been doing the past few weeks, and I'm so psyched to get Johnny Ballgame back on the court soon.
Wiz have a chance to make a splash. Despite the struggles they've had throughout the season, the injuries, and the harsh late-season schedule, they've put themselves into a position to make a deep run. It's a pivotal moment in the careers of all the players, and if the chemistry jives just right... maybe, just maybe... I'm dreaming a little but, but juuuust maybe they can make it out of Round 2 this year.
One game at a time, though. Take down the Heat. The roster is actually decent for matching up with Miami, having a duo of (somewhat) bangers in Gortat and Mahinmi to take on Whiteside is a big plus. Between the two of them, hopefully they show enough energy and physicality to throw him off his game a bit.
On the Heat, I was impressed with Josh Richardson's court presence last matchup. He has good size, a knack for the ball on Defense, and he seems to be in the right place more often than not. Keeping him in check, especially from 3pt range, might be a key tonight.
I hope Beal isn't too worn down with all the minutes. So glad he got a little rest in the 2nd half of the Pelicans blowout. The attention he draws really opens up things for Sato.
Morris has actually been active and dialed in, lately. Against the Pelicans, the play when Sato's defender completely left him open for a baseline jumper (on which Sato elevated well and splashed it, no problem) was a telling moment. The defense was clearly expecting a pass on the pick'n'pop, and the Czech Ace made them pay.
The scouting report on Sato must be changing: "Can't leave him open." Teams are going to learn that fact soon. The Wiz have weapons and spacing on offense with the current lineup. It's difficult to defend, especially with the focus of the defense keyed in on Brad.
Let's goooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
