Payton has kind of been avoiding passing to Bender though for a while because Bender passed up on what looked like would have been an easy bucket, and would hurt his assists...probably felt it was a worthless pass. Bender has been passive, but Ulis had finally kind of gotten him going before Payton showed up and then Bender stopped seeing the ball much after Payton saw him not finish a play or two he was trying to create. If Payton stuck with it with Bender it would help them both.
