Unless the Cavs get D Ayton or Luka Doncic in this draft, it's really hard to think otherwise.

Yup...trade still not over. If they land a top 3 pick I still think they won. Let’s face it, Lebron is a beast with or without Kyrie, I honestly don’t think Kyrie was the difference between winning the finals for the Cavs or losing...but in this scenario, they still make a finals run and shore up the future in a big way.

You almost know Silver is giving the Nets a top 3 pick. It already smells (stinks) of it. Then again if any team besides us lands a top 3 pick, I will probably find an excuse as to why they got it..lol.

I'm predicting one of CHI/NYK/LAC jumps up from a late slot for a top-3 selection in one of the big markets.

The Knicks and Bulls being good again seems of more benefit to the league than Cleveland, ATL or PHX.

Totally agree with this but still love to argue that the nba should want Atlanta to have a star. Atlanta is a big city and the nba would benefit greatly...

I’ve argued this for years but people come back with:

Atlanta is a college basketball city (ok, first off, what does that mean really, I mean, every city has fans of NCAA ...we have yet to see what a true top 10 or even top 12 player in a city like Atlanta can do for the growth of the league. If you build it, they will come. Also, Atlanta loves superstars...I know every city does, but Atlanta loves the big marketable names.

We need an Ayton, Doncic, Porter, Bagley and we need them to succeed in a big way.

Having said that, I agree the Knicks will crack the top 3 this year...the Nets have a good shot...the Bulls.

The league could care less about the Hawks, Grizz, Kings and Suns. Possibly the Magic as well but they gave the Magic their shot thrice in Shaq, Webber and Dwight...3 FIRST OVERALL PICKS (92,93,2004).

Atlanta has 0.

It’s our turn!

All I can think about in that pict is Horford saying "that's the worst fall i've seen since I threw TJ Ford down by his head"

Glad Jaylen is ok. That was awful.

If Celtics win 50 games, lose in the 2nd round to the Cavs -- is their season still a success?

Considering all they've dealt with since the start of the season...

Spurs will end up in the lottery and probably land Mikal Bridges. Win a title next year.

Kyrie is experiencing and sitting out games with soreness in his left knee. The same left knee he was experiencing issues with before he ultimately broke the knee cap on in 2015. The same left knee that he reportedly threatened to have surgery on to miss part of the season if Cleveland didn't trade him. I don't think it's necessarily a big issue but it merits consideration especially if we are including comments by the same 'businessman' who got Tristan, Iman, and JR all massively overpaid as a tally in the Boston win section.

Man, Avery Bradley has had perhaps the worst contract year of any player in recent memory.

He's been traded twice, had a sub par statistical season, dealt with injuries and...was accused of s3xual misconduct.
Going into an off-season where only a limited number of teams even had cap space to maneuver.

That's a lot stacked against him going into Free Agency.

Or that GM knew a regression was coming and hustled the buyers as these players approached a big payday.

I actually think he's slime. But his moves over the past 11 years have been pretty impressive.

Spoiler:
He tanked for Oden, missed out on a top-3 pick...but then traded it and other draftees for Ray Allen. Convinced KG to waive his no-trade clause.

Traded a declining KG and Pierce for draft picks in what's become possibly the most lopsided trade of all time.

Traded a declining Rondo for Jae Crowder. Traded a modest draft pick for Isaiah Thomas. Then packaged all those things for a young superstar entering his prime.

He traded the right to draft Markelle Fultz for the best rookie and an additional lottery pick.

Traded a championship winning coach for draft picks -- then replaced him with a younger, cheaper, better option.

He rebuilt the entire franchise in a 18 month period and is back to being a top-5 operation.

And oh, yeah. His team also won two Conference Titles and an NBA Championship along the way.

No franchise in the East (without LeBron) has had a better run since the 2008 season. (The year our own playoff streak.)

We...are on our 5th GM in that span. :nonono:

Danny Ainge is a lying piece a garbage, but he's a very savvy NBA executive.
