Re: Dillon Brooks Rookie Season
I did a couple of "wait, who was that?" In the Rising stars challenge. Obviously its tough to get much of a feel for a player in a game like that but I'd say he's intriguing for sure.
I see he's almost a neutral defender as a rookie which is a pretty good sign and has a nice 3 point stroke. The offensive numbers aren't pretty ovrerall but they really arent that bad either for a rookie. Really the only concern is that he's already 22.
We'll be able to get a much better gauge on his potential next year when Memphis hopefully has an actual NBA roster intact.

Re: Dillon Brooks Rookie Season
Yeah and Memphis has been experimenting some in the latter portion of this season. Heck, at one point we had Dillon at point, Martin at the two, Rabb at the three, Green at the four, and Gasol at the five (IND game). I love the competitive drive Dillon has had though.
Conley/Evans/Brooks/Green/Gasol is a solid lineup and that isn't even taking into account what should be a top talent (though it is also super optimistic we resign Evans). Harrison/Seldon/?/Martin or Rabb/Davis is a little weak for a bench but hopefully the draft pick helps with that.

Re: Dillon Brooks Rookie Season
What I like about Dillon is that he is competitive and how well it has shown on the court this season. I dare say he's the first rookie in a long time that has shown that he cares about what happens with himself and the Grizzlies. There was an article from TCA on Monday talking about the demoralizing season the Grizzlies have gone through. Brooks referenced that the losses is parked in their minds. Brooks continue to strive forward and play to the best of his abilities. He has room to continue to improve his game of course.
I say if he continues to improve his game overall, I dare say he might have a shot at being call an All-Star in his own right someday.

Re: Dillon Brooks Rookie Season
I think he will be a near-All Star type player at best that is under-appreciated sorta like Mike. Him and Gasol pair well together since they both are very competitive and I really like the chemistry I've seen from them tonight. Add Mike in for a 3-man game and have Evans run the bench and we could hit the playoffs again next season. That's before even considering a significant boost from a top draft pick.
Conley/Wayne or Evans/Brooks/Green/Gasol with a bench of Harrison or Simmons/Evans or Wayne/Parsons/Martin/Davis
