Best:
Sherm to the Niners. Great deal for the Niners assuming he plays. Hurts to say.
Worst:
Sam Bradford to Arizona. 20 million? I think it was reported as 15 guaranteed.
Bradford's agent needs a raise asap!

Best: Allen Robinson to CHI for 3-42
Worst: Albert Wilson to the Dolphins for 3-24
I think Bradford was a funny signing, but its only one year, and I definitely think worse moves were made that will impact teams for longer.

The only thing that has shocked me so far is the Packers releasing Jory Nelson. Never saw that coming. Wonder how much of it had to do with his awful knee injury the year before.

I never knew he signed.
What a bad signing by the Ravens. It shows how desperate they must be.

Re: Best/Worst Moves in Free Agency
Best: Sammy Watkins - but only for the Chiefs. He got overpaid, but after thinking about it, the Chiefs have essentially locked in possibly the best skill position group in the NFL for a few years, and Sammy's money will be paid while they have cheap QB play. Mahomes will have elite weapons and that should help him develop, then if he does, Sammy's money is off the books and you can re-sign Mahomes.
Worst: Sherman - I know there are a ton of incentives in the contract, but they should have gone after a younger CB IMO. They are a young team and signed a guy that they will probably cut next year - not a huge deal, except it ultimately precluded them from getting a younger long term option.
Side note: I'm not huge on the Vikings signing Cousins to the deal that they did. You have to really look at Keenum's numbers last year, but IMO Cousins best case would be roughly matching them. Bridgewater looked like a franchise QB before the injury and would have come much cheaper. That's a gamble for the Vikings, so in a way they had to get Cousins, but that contract gives them a 3 year window IMO and even within those 3 years they will likely lose a significant contributor on either offense or defense.

agreed
allen robinson to me is the signing of the offseason. I like what the Bears did with Him and Gabriel, getting some nice targets for Mitch.

Re: Best/Worst Moves in Free Agency
Best
- Allen Robinson signing. A lot of money, but a game changer if he stays healthy. The Bears in general did a great job of giving weapons to Trubisky. Let's see if he can use them.
- The Rams trading for Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. These are two of the more dominant #1 AND #2 CBs in the league. Its risky because they are both apparently a bit wild, but WRs are in for a tough day when they play the Rams. Should give Aaron Donald and their pass rush lots of time to get to the QB.
- Sherman signing. Niners took a low risk, high reward deal on a guy who could be a Pro Bowl CB that's perfect for their system.
- AJ McCarron at 2yrs/$10M to Buffalo is a great deal. He's got the arm and size to be good in that climate. It's also a cheap enough deal to allow them to draft a QB and install him in year two, at which point if McCarron plays well the Bills can get a nice pick for him in a trade.
Worst
- Tyrod Taylor for pick #90. The Bills were reportedly going to cut him if they couldn't find a trade partner, so CLE giving up a 3rd rd pick for him is insane. Buffalo seemingly would've taken anything for him, unless of course there was another team that wanted Taylor and his salary. I find it hard to believe that another team was offering anything close to pick #90. If they are going to draft a QB #1 (they have to) then just signing a guy like Mike Glennon to a cheap two year deal would've made more sense. The offensive scheme they'll have to install around Taylor will be nothing like the one the QB they draft will play. Just dumb all around.
- Star Lotuleilei 5yrs/$50M to Buffalo. He was ranked #109 at his position by PFF. He's young and has potential still, but that's a massive deal for a guy who isn't even average.

ooh, you're really not gonna like this then:

The Browns will give up a third-round pick, No. 65 overall, for Taylor, according to the source.

Re: Best/Worst Moves in Free Agency
I originally defended the move for the Browns, but that was before I remembered Tyrod's restructure of his deal.
Before the re-structure, Tyrod would be making 16m in salary through 2021, none of it guaranteed. Basically, a year to year deal. And I think that would have been extremely valuable for the Browns, as they could retain Tyrod if he fit better in CLE, or if they wanted to trade him after the season, or if they had buku FA bucks next year but wanted to keep him as insurance.
Now the premise of the deal I still like - Tyrod can be cut or dealt in-season and it will not affect the Browns cap situation in the future, and I think that's what sets him apart from a 1 year signing of Bradford. I think his status as a veteran lame-duck with minimal long-term appeal, making it easier for whoever QB the Browns take in the top 5 to win the job/locker room, is why Tyrod was targeted over Teddy Bridgewater. The only other vet that would have made some sense is McCown, but him already being there once plus being pursued by the Jets made that unlikely too.
All that said, the only way Tyrod would actually be worth the 65 is if he still had his pay-as-you-go contract, which he doesn't. So now the Browns are likely losers in this trade, but there is still some hope for them - if Tyrod plays well the first 6 weeks, but they still want to hand the reins over to the new QB.. maybe they can find a desperate playoff team that is willing to part with a 2019 3rd or 4th? My mind immediately jumps to the Jaguars.. Bortles is relatively ineffective, they find a crappy reasoning to IR him, and boom, the road is paved for Tyrod to Jax.

I think Bradford getting 20m is an abomination (esp with Keenum getting 18 when Keenum floored him last year), but in the end, its a 1 year deal. I have a hard time thinking the worst FA deal is a 1 year deal.
FWIW I actually think the worst move hasnt been made yet. When Suh empties a team's piggy bank for the next couple years, that will be the worst move. Amazing DT but there's only so much impact you can make from that position without talent surrounding you.

I’m not sure what you mean by that, but Bradford played 1 healthy game last and was amazing. Obviously he can’t stay healthy and doesn’t deserve a20 million dollar contract, but he played well for the Vikings when he actually played.

Right, one good game, one terrible one, after a mediocre season. I saw Keenum look better last year than Bradford ever has.

He was clearly hurt the 2nd game and had no business playing. He would have been given his job back if he had gotten healthy in the next 3-4 games.
The year before Bradford had a 99 rating and set the record for completion percentage, it was clearly better than mediocre.
