Re: Fake Trade Thread
Thibs is just as old school as Cliff and is part of that same coaching tree. He's probably a better coach, but he's not one I would want here. Do you not remember stuff like this Catch?

And Eoghan isn't the only one who feels that way about Wiggens.

Are we going to dismiss Thibs turning the Timberwolves into a contender in the West from a lottery team within 2 seasons? He did the same for the Bulls in the East within 2 seasons as well during his previous stint as a head coach. The Bulls haven’t been the same since he got fired.
Are we going to dismiss that Thibs is responsible for the development of Jimmy Butler from a late 1st round pick with defensive potential into a perennial all-star?
Thibs is a excellent coach, easily top 5 in the league, and it’s not really disputable.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Kemba's knees would be saw dust by now if he played under Thibs. No way would I consider Thibs top 5 in the league. Pop, Stevens, Spoelstra, Carlisle, Kerr and I'd take Snyder, Malone, D'Antoni, Walton, Brown, Budenholzer and Casey over Thibs. Jimmy Butler is responsible for Butler's success, he's a very self-motivated individual.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
So apparently ESPN doesn't agree with Thibs being to 5 last year.

I say this not to be flip, but it's super debatable. Thibs is great at some stuff, obviously, but I would hate to have him here.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Thibs is just as intransigent as Clifford. You'll play the Thibs way or no way. He'll have success as long as he has the locker room and his schemes don't get too outdated but it's all fool's gold. Between Clifford and Larry Brown I have had enough with these kinds of coaches.
Just say no to the Van Gundy coaching tree.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
So how about a fake trade.
MKG + Monk to Atlanta for Kent Bazemore & Minnesota's pick (currently 24 - one of 3 Atlanta has).
Too much?

No thanks. I wouldn’t even trade MKG straight up for Bazemore. I’d trade Batum for Bazemore tho.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
I saw someone suggest on the trade board trading Kemba for Fultz and the two picks Philly owns if they are really going after LeBron. Not sure they would do it but if they feel having another vet could bring in LeBron I could see them doing it. I would consider this because it would speed up a rebuild. Fultz/Monk/Mikal Bridges/SGA/Robert Williams could be an interesting young group to start building around. Lots of future potential and some interesting combinations could be made out of that group.
Not 100% sure I would do it but I can see why it would be interesting.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
As a team I wouldn't touch this unless I understood 100% what had happened to Fultz this year and what his prognosis was for regaining his shooting touch.
Personally I don't think that Fultz will ever be what people thought he would be coming into the NBA.

He may not be but I don't see us getting a better offer than this even if Fultz is not going to be what everyone thought. If he just becomes a solid back up PG this is still the best offer I can see us getting since we screwed up and didn't move him this deadline.

Assuming the team manages to trade the #10 for someone of value, what kind of guy would you want to get for that? Names most commonly mentioned are Wiggens, Love, Blake, & LMA.

Only Love out of those 4 you mentioned intrigues me.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
any of them except LMA. Would rank them Wiggins>Love>Blake>LMA. as our salary filler piece, I expect it would be a Batum+10 for Wiggins swap or a Dwight+10 package for the others, and that factors into my decision.

At the trade deadline, I was pushing Fultz, the Lakers pick this year, and Bayless for Kemba. I felt like the Sixers were the team that was less likely to do it considering that Kemba is expiring next year, but if they really have a solid chance at Lebron (which I think they should) then getting Kemba on their squad might make them the favorite as long as they could clear the cap needed to sign him.
I'm not sure why people are so down on Fultz. Though I think he was a bit overrated going into the draft (I thought this at the time of the draft too), he's still tremendously talented. People questioned Simmons and Embiid, and look at the two now. I was scared his shot was gone when I saw what it became this past Summer, but I think he's probably close to having it right now based off this video:

I'm down on Fultz because he forgot how to shoot. It's just too bizarre a situation for me to feel good about.

Re: Fake Trade Thread
Awesome so we could add to the starting lineup a player who forgot how to shoot to join one who never knew how in the first place, PLUS lose our best shooter in the process. Where do I sign up?

Pick 10 isn't enough for Kevin Love so of course you do that deal without flinching. I prefer addition to Kemba over subtraction of Kemba.

Idk, if Lebron leaves and they want to tank then the 10th pick seems like it could be good enough value.

And LeBron is like 90% likely to leave lol.

The Sixers aren’t going to trade us Fultz now that he’s getting back to normal. I think a lot of people like yourself that’s taking shots at him right now are going to retract y’all statements about him. He’s a perfect fit between everything they got going on. Him being oddly injured is going to be a blessing in disguise for them when he breaks out next year with the decided nucleus they already have + maybe LeBron.
I think Fultz just had nerve damage in his shoulder and now it’s starting to go away. It’s one thing to change your shot but you could see it that he was struggling to even get his shooting arm above his head.
