I'll simply say that this kid has been on NBA scouts radar for years. AAU, All Star, HS ball -- he's been elite scorer thanks to both his size and jumper.

Those same assets should translate to the next level as long as his health checks out.

There is no reason he can't do all the things Jayson Tatum is doing...but with more consistent range on his jumper.

Porter was scouted in high school. Many players looked very good in school and didn’t have Nba career. And on the top of that he missed entire NCAA season and has very fragile looking body. Scoring 30 points over 6’0 kids and scoring 20 points in Nba are 2 different universe. And if you insists on scouts reports, let’s wait what scouts will say how he looks now. He for sure isn’t top10 NCAA player at the moment.

What's to defend? I keep telling people not to go crazy over tournament results. If someone chooses not to listen, that's on them.

I can also see through the 'cut down everyone not named Luka' narrative so I'll pass on venturing down that rabbit hole.

That’s not fair, but why I would expect something different from you.

I have written legit question marks about MPJ at this moment. And I would appreciate your answer in similar way. To say he is great prospect, because scouts said he was good in high school is not an answer. It’s not only about this tournament, but he doesn’t have not even single good game in or before NCAA and doesn’t look like future great Nba player. Sorry but dominating small kids is not too impressive for me. Do you really believe that he would have played this tournament if he was only on 60%? That’s his reality at the moment. And he for sure won’t look better in Nba.

And if you want. Young is much better prospect than him. Mikal better than bought of them. If you don’t like Doncic, I would take, Ayton, Bagley, M. Bridges, Young, JJJ, Bamba, Miles B...all in front of him. But I would like to hear your opinion.

Oh! Is that what all the nonsense is about?

Now I regret participating at all...

@Spud- Mikal Bridges and 'Nova looked dominant today. Mikal had 19 second half points in 5 and a half minutes. Elite man defense.

He could be an elite shooter in the league, but he gets spoon fed a ton of open shots.

M Bridges definitely requires a ball dominant PG to create opportunities for him.

Side note: Villanova's Jay Wright is a name to watch for future NBA head coaching gigs.

King knows, what’s my answer are all about? ;) What a joke are some of you here, no arguments only insinuations. Do you really need scouts to see what’s obvious? Anyway, have nice day and life.

As far as intangibles go, I think I love this kid...

Read on Twitter

There’s no doubt Porter Jr. is a lottery type talent as he’s projected to go 7th overall to the Dallas Mavericks in the latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft, but he didn’t seem to be too worried about the next level following the season-ending loss.

“I’m not thinking about that right now,” Porter Jr. told reporters following the game. “I’m thinking about my team.”

Porter Jr. was a surefire consensus top-five draft pick before the injury, but his health is a concern for NBA teams.

Hi King Ken, it’s odd that you decided to go with Bob...

Sometimes you need more than one account to prove a point.

I was thinking the same thing.

He's certainly that abrasive -- As if only his opinion matters and no one has any insight of any value to offer

I found the pattern of the grammar very familiar for sure. The style of writing is also similar it seems.

Could you be there? Ahhh what’s the difference..

Bob is nowhere close to Supes...I mean King Ken. There’s an actual attempt at grammar despite some failings by somenone who is clearly a non-native English speaker. Supes just lets his opinion fly, doesn’t use the word “insinuations” and has Bagley and Bamba as his favorites, not Doncic.

This is a strange draft. Very strong top 7 with Ayton, Luka, Bagley, Porter, JJJ, Bamba and Trae.

The ony one that scares me is Trae, but he could be Curryesque. If I have #1 it has to be Ayton. What is Doncic in the NBA? Can he get in shape? Can he shoot? Bagley and JJJ seem like easy money. Porter could be special, injury a concern? Bamba seems a sure thing. A bit light on O, but crazy D that could really help the Hawks in the paint.

I guess it's a good situation where we're basically guaranteed one of these guys. My order of preference is presently leaning

Ayton / Bagley / Bamba / Doncic / JJJ / Porter / Trae

If Duke goes on this Final Four run, Memphis will probably take Bagley no.1. That is good and fits their style.

Also, will the draft order turn out to be Memphis at 1, and Phoenix at 2? If Bagley goes no.1 to Memphis, Phoenix will no doubt take Ayton at 2.

I did this on the Suns board and got some good responses so I thought I'd do it here too. I know everyone has their own big board and players they want the Hawks to take, but what do you think the FO's big board actually is?

For example, I think that Memphis's actual big board is much higher on Porter than most people's. (maybe around #4)

*I realize this could potentially change quite a bit as the tournament goes on

Shai's draft stock has risen greatly since the start of SEC Tournament. I could see him filling a role as starting SG and backup PG moving forward.

He'd make a solid scoring option beside Ayton, Doncic, Porter or Bagley.

I know the Hawks don't need a combo guard, but Khyri Thomas could the 2018's version of Donovan Mitchell. Khyri like Mitchell will go under the radar into the draft, he doesn't have Vince hops, but he is a guy with no real weaknesses to his game who is crafty with a good IQ, who i can see having the same rookie season that Donovan Mitchell is having.

^1. I wholeheartedly support drafting Khyri and think we could grab him with the Minny pick.

2. But he isn't quite the scorer Donovan is. He seems more Avery Bradley than D Mitchell and is likely the 2nd best 3 & D option in this draft.
