Ever since we were young children, the fact was ingrained in our heads - perhaps more than who the first president was or any of the state capitals - a 16 seed has never beaten a 1 seed. Normally I'd be at work in Japan and have missed the game. Lucky to be back in the States and to have been able to watch it as it was happening. This is like when Pluto stopped being a planet. We've got to change all the history books and unremember what we were all once taught.
At the end of the day, it's not about wins and losses. Teamwork, fair play, and good sportsmanship make champions of us all.

Go arbitrary assortment of athletes! Beat the other arbitrary assortment of athletes or my mood will suffer!

What's crazy is that this wasn't even close. This is a 16th seed blowing out the arguably "best" team in the nation.

I never thought Virginia could win it all, but they were a top 3 team coming in and to their defense not having the impact of Hunter available hurt them ,but they just got their ass handed to them and lost to a better team which says to me only one thing : UMBC is a legit final four contender.

Just wait for this guy. UCLA commit.

I don’t know why everyone is so shocked. UMBC had to win the America East, not the easy ACC. They only managed to win in Maine by 5 points :P

I really think Mikal Bridges is going to be better than Porter Jr.

Teams are going to pass on him b/c he doesn't have a crazy high ceiling...and than regret it when he turns into a borderline AS as a #11 pick

Wendell Carter just pulled a NASTY move on a defender in the post. That was brilliant stuff.

This Duke team has so many prospect. You have Bagley and Carter as top 12 guys, and then possibly 3 more that will go somewhere in the first in Trent Jr., Duval and Allen.

And that's nothing compared to next year, when they're going to have the top 3 recruits in the country...Barrett, Reddish and Williamson.

I think he's going to be a top 10 pick for sure. Versatile wing defenders that can shoot and drop 3s like him are hot commodities. He's a perfect compliment to Ntilikina and Porzingis, for example.

Who are you taking; Kevin Knox or Bridges? Knox is 3 years younger

Personally I wouldn't take Knox in the lottery. He's way too much of a risk. His stock is completely predicated on his length and athleticism. He reminds me of Jeff Green.

I'm talking about Bridges. What brought Knox into the conversation?

They’re projected close together. Classic case of potential vs proven ability.

This is one of Duke's more complete games of the year. All 5 of the starters have really brought it today on both sides. No crazy stats for any player particular because all 5 guys are all getting their share of the load today.

There's absolutely ZERO chance Bagley busts. Combination of skills, athleticism and motor is outstanding. You're going to be getting at least a solid starter. You can bank on that. Least bust potential out of all the blue chip prospects.
