Stan Van Gundy: Referees Embarrassing For NBA

Stan Van Gundy was sharply critical of the officiating following Detroit's loss to the Blazers on Saturday.

"It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing for them and embarrassing for the league," Van Gundy said of Saturday's officiating.

"I've been here for four years and many more years before that, and I've never come in after a game -- never, never come in after a game -- and talked like this. That was embarrassing," he said. "We got absolutely screwed tonight."

It's also embarrassing that's he's had complete control for 4 years and this is the product he's assembled.

Didn't watch but we shot 2 more FTs than them and lost by 13. Doesn't seem like we got screwed.

Who cares Stan you lost by 13 point. You should be focused on fixing the broke azz scheme your running not what u cant control.

SVG was not the only one to complain about referees, Alvin Gentry went nuts on the referees yesterday.

I agree, SVG have a lot of things he can control that he should be working to fix. His lineups and rotations are absolutely brutal and he seems to be completely lost.

I'm sure Blake Griffins consistent whining to the refs every play over the entire season doesnt help your team get calls. Watch him on the court hes constantly complaining to them.

The refs did miss some calls. That happens to all teams over the course of the season though. Regardless when your losing games by 15 points a game like the pistons the calls arent the reason.

Somehow the same guy was drawing fouls in LA. He's only getting 4.7 attempts as a piston vs 6.6 on the clips. He's getting fouled a lot more than that and just not getting the calls. It doesn't help to complain, but he's getting screwed.

The guy that really gets no love from the refs is Buycks. That guy can't buy a call.
