2018 MLB/Brewers Prediction Thread: Predictions Lock on 3/29
As we did in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, we're coming back for our annual opportunity to predict some **** regarding the Brewers and the MLB.
The winner will be given access to HighHeat's "source," which will give them access to a boatload of Brewers gossip that is accurate up to 2% of the time, along with the fame that comes with that "insider" status.
Check the poll up top, which will get the board's sense on where the Brewers will finish. Then, answer the following questions.

MVP Hitter: Christian Yelich
MVP Pitcher: Jhoulys Chacin
Most Pleasant Surprise (Position/Pitcher): Ryan Braun/Jhoulys Chacin
Biggest Disappointment (Position/Pitcher): Travis Shaw/Corey Knebel
Are We Sellers or Buyers at the Deadline: Neither
MLB Predictions
AL Playoff Teams: Astros, Yankees, Indians, Red Sox, Twins
NL Playoff Teams: Cubs, Dodgers, Nationals, Diamondbacks, Cardinals
NLCS: Cubs Dodgers
ALCS: Astros Yankees

AL MVP: Carlos Correa

AL Cy Young: Chris Sale
NL Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw
AL Rookie of the Year: Willie Calhoun
NL Rookie of the Year: Ronald Acuna
I think this year is going to be similar to last year, we will be solid but I think some of the guys coming off career years will regress. Christian Yelich's career 250+ road games project him to hit over .300 with a .370 OBP with over 100 runs and RBI and over 20 HR and SB. I think Braun stays healthier than he has in past years and puts up nice numbers in a loaded offense. I think Chacin is going to surprise people and post somewhere around a 3.75 ERA and 1.20 WHIP while winning 10+ games. I think Shaw is going to regress while people have very high expectations for him and I think Knebel's control issues are going to lead to a lot more blown saves than people are comfortable with. Similar to last year I do not think we will make any major moves at the deadline.

Re: 2018 MLB/Brewers Prediction Thread
I never feel knowledgeable about the rest of the League to make any bold predictions. However, I definitely have thoughts on the Brew Crew:
Brewers Predictions
Record: 86-76
Place In Divisional Standings: 2nd
Playoffs (Y/N): N
MVP Hitter: Cain
MVP Pitcher: Hader
Most Pleasant Surprise (Position/Pitcher): Brinson...oh wait...Braun at 1B. Williams will make the roster and turn into a solid 7th/8th inning set-up man.
Biggest Disappointment (Position/Pitcher): Shaw/Knebel
Are We Sellers or Buyers at the Deadline: Mild tempered 'Buyers'. We'll be close enough but still won't be willing to give up the farm for a playoff push this soon.

Yelich could be an MVP candidate leaving Miami's ballpark and that isnt hyperbole IMO its common sense.

I'll just leave this here again: Christian Yelich's career 248 road games prorated over a 155 game season is .300avg, 0.373 OBP, 122 runs, 112 RBI, 25 HRs, and 24 SB.
His career home games prorated over a 155 game season is .280avg, .364 OBP, 112 runs, 73 RBI, 11 HR, 21 SB.
Those are staggering splits. If he just averages his career road numbers you're looking at an MVP candidate and that doesn't account for any Miller Park benefit.
