The more I read stuff like this the more I worry about the people around Kawhi Leonard.

Early on a Friday morning, on his way to hear a panel discussion about optical tracking and esports analytics, Sam Hinkie was stopped a handful of times in the overcrowded hallway at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center by a host of hopeful, clammy-handed college kids clutching résumés.

--------

That is how things go for Hinkie at the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference.

--------

One of the SSAC panels Hinkie appeared on was was titled “Is AI the Answer?”

So does that mean that Hinkie went to listen to Jeremy Lin talk about analytics while waiting for his own event? The eSports panel was one of the two Sloan Sports Analytics Conference panels that JLin was a guest speaker on this year (JLin owns an eSports DOTA team. Last season, he also kept track of a set of basketball analytics stats he devised to identify best plays/lineups combos for the Nets while recuperating on the bench. Atkinson called it "Linology" and has said that Lin makes him a better coach. I think Lin might have gotten the idea from seeing MKG assigned a similar task when MKG was out for the season that Lin was in Charlotte, when Cliff tasked MKG with writing up notes on defensive details while recuperating). Looks like Hinkie ran into Jim Tanner, one of Lin's agents, as well.

Interesting data. Kemba did show up in the list of players who don't get calls.

Something needs to be done about NBA officiating. It’s too inconsistent and lopsided towards bias. Every player and team should be subject to the same calls when the same amount of contact occurs. At the end of the day whether one team is a winning team or not, whether one player is a all-star or not, they’re all professionals that deserve equal treatment. Anything less than that is unprofessional and that’s exactly what these NBA refs have been. Easily the worst officiating in all of professional sports is in the NBA and it’s not close.

Jakob Poeltl is the 7ft version of Cody.

Sounds like there is a rumor that Stackhouse might replace Vogel in Orlando this summer. The Orlando board is super happy with this idea overall, though there are some doubters who point out that Stack hasn't coached a game yet.

UNCC 49ers Legend Henry Williams died today at 47. He was also the Charlotte Bobcats first color commentator back in 2004.

I hope the Cavs continue to lose so that they’ll have to play Boston in the 1st round, the winner of the Washington-Indiana series in the 2nd round, and Toronto in the ECF. I just want the East playoffs to be as exciting as possible instead of the typical cakewalk for LeBron to the finals.

Oh wow, that's a shame. I actually really enjoyed his stint here. Would love it when he would make fun of Jared Dudley's lack of athleticism.

No one. Stat-wise, contract-wise.

So Tyronn Lue taking a indefinite leave from coaching the Cavs to address health issues much alike Clifford, huh? Lol

Sounds like he is only giving himself a week off.

At this point your take on that is pretty definitively refuted, right? Clearly it wasn't a FO decision so he could be phased out.

Not too sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a trial period for Coach Drew to see how the team play without Lue. Just found it funny that there was another indefinite leave due to mental health issues.

Spurs tribute video. Made me super sad to watch it ... both because those guys just looked great playing the game and because I can barely remember passes like that here for the past few years.

I would trade Cody for Poeltl in a heartbeat but the Raptors wouldn’t.
