The Porton Down chemical weapon laboratory of the British military is only some 8 miles away from Salisbury where the Skripals were allegedly poisoned. The British government claims that Porton Down identified the agent allegedly used on the Skripals. The laboratory is surely also capable of producing such stuff, just like similar laboratories in other countries are able to do.

Now lets counter May's claims:

- Novichok agents are claimed to be up to 10 times as toxic as VX. One drop of VX can kill a person. If the Skripals were poisoned with such an highly effective agent how come they are still alive?
- The Soviet Union, not Russia, developed such agents. The main work was done in Uzbekistan.
- Russia is likely able to re-produce such agents but so are many, many other countries. Russia joined the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction in 1997. It has since (unlike the U.S.) destroyed all left over stocks from the Soviet Union chemical weapon program. It does not produce chemical weapons.
- What is Russia's "record of state sponsored assassinations"? The British claim that "Russia" was somehow involved in the death of MI6 agent Litvinenko is highly dubious. I am not aware of any other cases.
- If Russia sees "some defectors" as legitimate targets why doesn't it immediately kill them? Skripal was living openly in the UK since 2010. Why would Russia kill him at all and why now?

An undercover video report on Cambridge Analytica, the data analytics company hired by Donald Trump’s presidential election campaign, was posted by Britain’s Channel 4 News today.

The short documentary catches Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix admitting to manipulating elections around the world through potentially illegal, and inarguably duplicitous, means. His firm was recently discovered by the New York Times and The Guardian to have secretly harvested the information of 50 million Facebook users, and exploiting it to target American voters with political ads.

What's more likely. Either Russia lied and never dismantled it or started it up again or the UK government used an elaborate plan which poisoned their own citizens so they can expel diplomats?

@dirt - with regards to the housing bubble: Housing Tax Policy, Deregulation (as you cited) and Mandated Loans are among the most cited. It goes deeper than that of course. And the student loan program is more of the same.

We still come back to the "add an agency to protect us from our policies" kind of approach. And often we don't need to replace these policies - we just need to kill them.

So deregulation is a big problem, and now let's kill some regulations... you see... that's where I have a problem. I don't even mean come back with a differenr take on the same ideas, but killing legislation without having thought through alternatives IS a problem. And when regulations effectively become legislated deregulation mandated to action, that's when we need tougher white collar crime laws that aren't just fines for less than you made profiting on the whole ordeal.

Frankly, I feel white collar crime needs to be taken a whole lot more seriously. People just don't fear it because they don't understand it, but frankly, being robbed of a wallet at knife point isn't actually as big of a social problem as having billions misappropriated while others die due to overinflated social costs.

Some things the government does extremely well that we tend to take for granted:
1. Defend us against terrorism, bad actions by foreign powers (like Russia), and invasion by Canadians
2. Enforce property rights, including ip
3. Provide and/or regulate basic public infrastructure - roads/ports/airports, electricity, water, internet
4. Provide unemployment insurance
5. Provide schools, police, fire departments

Some things that the government has to provide, or help provide, that they could do better:
1. Social security
2. Health care
3. Urban planning/zoning/business licensing
4. Prosecution of embezzlement/fraud/white collar crime in general. Based on what the Mueller investigation is uncovering, there's a whole class of rich people who apparently are just running amok.

There was no DNA test back then, Just their "word." while the rest of us (asian, black, hispanic, and white ) all paid $155,000 for the 4 years of education. Near the end of the school those DNA tests just became available. I'm quite sure they would refuse to take the DNA test as well just like Warren claims to not have taken the test or no need for a test.

CNN has now backed off collusion for over 3 months. they rarely bring it up after talking about it every day 24/7 for 13 straight months. Now they emphasize obstruction. which they are also starting to back away from. Today CNN talked all day long about how the president should "act innocent" and stop attacking mueller-the very man assigned to go on a 14 months witch hunt to find anything he did wrong or anything his associated did wrong. all in the name to politically damage trump and republicans.
