Are the Heat flying under the radar?

Post#1 » by somerandomdude » Tue Mar 20, 2018 3:23 am

We have our flaws, but I think people are sleeping on us:

  • We've faired well against the Raps (series split, 1 more game left) and Celtics (won 2/3) and *I think* every playoff team in the East, besides the Cavs.
  • We've had quite a few injuries and we're still competitive.
  • You can't count us out: even if we get down to a 20pt deficit, we find a way to will ourselves back in (we don't always win, admittedly).
  • We have a bit of depth
  • We're one of the top defensive teams.

At the very least, we're gonna be a tough out and a pain in the *** for whoever faces us.

We have the tools to win, It's just our execution has been very poor. And also we suck @ holding leads. With Whiteside/Wade helps stabilize things more. A vet like Wade changes alot of dynamics on the court and adds value for consistency. I feel we play hot potato during late game possessions, not enough experience etc.. Wade helps calm that down so others feel more comfortable.

Its pretty apparent now that Whiteside is needed, Bam is hitting that rookie wall and seems burnt. Getting torched by Euros.

But yeah, we definitely have the will to upset someone in the post-season.

i don't think we're a good team. we're making the playoffs cause the teams below us suck, but i expect to get stomped in the 1st round. i just don't see it.

Our biggest enemy is our inconsistency. We've seen some of the highs and we've been through the lows, so it's up to Spo and the Captains to get us as close as possible to our ceiling. I don't see the team making it easy for anyone, especially when the top of the East is so flimsy/banged up.

This team's ceiling should be first round; however, we are also mercurial, surprising, and--despite the maddening choices Spo sometimes makes--well coached. We're also getting better right when we are supposed to be improving, so... let's hope for an entertaining first round, celebrate the fact we are in the playoffs at all, and when we get to the ECF, we can start dreaming. Good enough?

I like this team. They hey have a ton of potential, as does Spo. But then they (he) make the stupidest mistakes and it's frustrating until you realize they really are a bunch of fringe players put together and expected to play great. So it's a full circle of hope and disappointment that never ends. You have to just enjoy the moment with this team. It's weird.

I have no idea where to project this team. I feel they can be swept and/or upset every team in front of them in the standings in the East. Boston is probably overrated. I'm not sure about Toronto.

We've had 23 games decided by 4 or less and are 12-11.

We could easily be 26-45 (Knicks level) or 49-22 (ahead of Boston) if one or two plays went differently each game. I think the key take away is that we are in almost every game.

All these close games will help us come playoff time. The key for this team is health. We have the pieces to make a run in the playoffs.

Like the team but being realistic, we lack the true stars scorers you need in order to win against playoff defenses.

I see us struggling to get decent shots in money time.

Still, not that impressed with the top of the East. And maybe Dragon catches fire and someone else steps up.

Well, we have a good shot against banged up Celtics at least.

Nah, we're just not that good.

We're a treadmill team that will give somebody a good 5 or 6 games hopefully
