That used to be me. I can't see details more than like a metre in front of me. Glasses can't correct structural issues in the eye (I have dislocated lenses which cause light refraction).

He can ask for accommodation. You get a note taker, or the prof has to give you their slides.

Didn't mean any harm by the post i was just baffled, the screen is relatively large (maybe 8x5 metres) and its eye level but just thought it was weird because usually you'll see people do that when they are at a farther distance but he just right there, given i don't know him personally maybe it was reasonable what he was doing.
