Hi guys, Jazz fan here. I come in peace.
I was just reading Lowe's 10 Things column today in which he talks about MKG and his relative lack of development offensively. I see that he's signed for another two years at 13m per with a PO for the last year. That's quite a bit of money to have invested in a non-entity offensively unless they are an absolutely killer on D. Obviously that was the expectation we all had for him coming out, but it doesn't look like he has quite reached that level.
So here's what I'm wondering: how close are y'all to giving up on him? Is he considered deadweight or are you still holding out hope he can become at least a starting caliber player? Would he benefit from a fresh start somewhere else, do you think?
The Jazz have shown the ability to develop players that have had trouble in other environments and I'm just thinking if he's available for a low enough cost, he might be someone we would consider taking on in the hopes that we can succeed where others have failed. We have Alec Burks, who could be a decent enough 3rd wing on a different team that values isolation a little more than we do and he's on the books for 11.5m for one more season. Perhaps a swap of the two with a 2nd rounder thrown in might be enough?
Just wondering. If you guys still believe in him, no need to take this as an affront. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.
