Rivals - Draft Thread (1980's & forward)

Post#1 » by Laimbeer » Sun Mar 25, 2018 6:22 pm

Draft rules:

1. Subject to the rules set out below, players who appeared in the finals from 1980 through 2017 are available to be drafted.

2. You will select two players with each pick. The season selected must be the same for both and they must have played on opposing teams in the finals that season. Each must have played at least half of the regular season games for that finals team. You will only be allowed to select one player in each round who made the All-NBA First Team at any point in their career.

3. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Each of your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

4. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

5. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

6. We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBA

7. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

8. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

9. Draft order will be completely randomized.

10. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet.

11. The method to decide a winner is TBD.

Team Roster Page Rules:

1. You will be responsible for creating a roster page for your fantasy team. Here are the things that you will be required to include on your roster page:

. Players
. Rotations
. Draft selections
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is under the required 85.0 FGA

-All of the above must be completed before rankings and/or playoffs begin.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I think LeBron has the best possible partner of the top tier guys and it leaves me a little flexibility in terms of season.

LeBron James and Draymond Green

Scottie Pippen and Shawn Kemp, 1996 Finals
Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Oakley, 1994 Finals

I actually feel pretty good about this. Let’s see how I can mess it up. Hopefully there are some guards later on...
