No talk about Zlatan joining MLS?

Post#1 » by 3Diamantidis » Sun Mar 25, 2018 10:49 pm

Ain't this the greatest signing in the history of the league?
Beckham was a superstar mainly off pitch, but he was not at zlatan's level on it(imo).

His first move was as zlatan as it gets

People outside of the US don't care about MLS. Zlatan is done, he wants a big last paycheck, where else was he gonna go? It's always China, Arabs or MLS. He doesn't wanna live for 1-2 years in China or ababistans, so there you go.

I think europeans see the MLS as a comedy retirement league to talk about alongside the chinese league.

probably but it honestly isn't that bad. MLS's top clubs would probably be higher end championship, lower end ligue 1 i guess. The CSL has great foreigners, sadly the local players are downright bad outside the top clubs.

1. I hate yall saying Zlatan is done, he isnt, though I think he recognises he will not be able to be the man on a champions league competitor anymore.
And we all know the zlat wont settle for second best,
2. In the MLS he chucks in 3-4 years and will end up a legend, one of the goats of american soccer. Then he goes down as a legend in Serie A, Ligue 1 and MLS at least.
3. Yeah he still gets paid and by being in the US it opens him up even further marketing wise and he will be able to start making even more money from sponserships amd make his brand (himself) bigger.

This is a great move for Zlatan, and I hope he kicks ass and raises the profile of the league.

Maybe not a legend,
Like not Totti, Buffon level.
But he did make a huge impact in the Serie A when he was there (1 golden boot, couple titles, i think 100+ goals)
So he will go down as one of the most dominant players in the modern era of serie A, which gives him a positive immortality in Serie A (by immortality I just mean he will be remembered as a player)

I wish him all the best.

MLS - where washed up Europeans go to die.

Christian Fuchs on his way there soon.

Wasn't the 4th goal offside?

American here. The MLS is a joke. It truly doesn't do the sport justice. When people ask me why I don't support a local MLS team instead, I say, have you watched?

More importantly, why do most Americans ignore the sport? You have your answer.

A lot of haters in here.

MLS is great, and is improving every year. Is it the best football in the world? No... But what it lacks in talent it makes up for in unpredictability. Love watching every game knowing absolutely anything can happen.

Also RealGM has an MLS forum. Come talk about the league. viewforum.php?f=450
