Gafford returning is a surprise to me, I'm not sure he'll accomplish that much as a sophmore in terms of his game.

In terms of his game is right, surprising. Program is dead without him coming back though, its funny that nationally its not realized how much money is there......look it up.

No NBA team in Arkansas, alot of money though....where was Walmart founded again?

Kentucky gets top recruits, do they have an NBA team?? Duke has probably the best recruiting class since the Fab 5 coming in, but who is looking at that.....this isn't a secret, Carolina should stink every year.

Just saying, look at those small places who have no reason to get top recruits, then you will find your answer.

Gafford wasn't even a 5 star recruit and he's from the state of Arkansas. I seriously doubt there's any foul play going on here. This class is loaded with bigs and maybe he doesn't want to risk getting pushed out of the lottery.

Its a bit of a silly move if you ask me, even given next years draft is apparently weaker. He tapered off at the end of the season and I think another season where his shortcomings will be magnified certainly wont help his rating. I guess it doesn't really relate to the 76ers anyway.

(FYI I don't mind a few conspiracy theories thrown around. There aren't enough now most of the Fultz theories have been shot down in flames)!!

Assuming Doncic, Ayton, JJJ, Bagley, Bamba, Mikal, Porter, Carter and Young gone top-9, who you pick at 10?

I think you'd have to look very closely at Miles Bridges and Shai. In the unlikely event De'Andre Hunter declares I think he would be in the mix as well. From the Lakers spot to our own pick there will be some quality NBA players picked. While the players in those positions aren't perfect a lot of them have the type of upside that is rare for those slots in most drafts.

Shai. I wouldn’t be broken up about Sexton either, but Shai will make everyone better when he’s ready.

Is everyone off the Miles Bridges train?

Basically.

From what I saw, he didn't get any better during his sophomore year. It was just more of the same.

He and Kevin Knox are my least favorite additions with the Lakers pick.

It would be between Shai, Sexton and Lonnie Walker. Probably in that order.

TBH I have a different view from Kobble, I thought he improved quite a bit in areas that will help him in the NBA. He should be very high on our list because he has proven he can shoot in a wide variety of situations. He's also shown this year he can create his own shot to a certain extent and he's also got the requisite athleticism required at the next level.

Look at it this way, last year he was a consensus top 10 pick in a strong draft - even if he hasn't improved he should be again in the conversation for top 10, but the fact of the matter he has improved. He also provides something that has been sorely lacking on our roster before Fultz returned yesterday - a wing who can create and make their own shot.

This article on the Stepien outlines the improvements he's made this season. He definitely has to be looked at in depth by our scouting department because he fits our roster like a glove. You also don't have any of the shooting concerns that the other guys around this mark have - he's a legit gunner with NBA range. You don't have to worry about "maybe" his shot might translate because he's as certain in that area as anyone in this draft.

Kobblehead wrote:Bagley's athletic talent and production are great.

But when projecting him into the league, I just have some hiccups.

If you ignore all the packaging and production and just look at him on surface, he's essentially a frontcourt player with crap measurables, sub-par defensive instincts, and a sub-par offensive skill level. Doesn't that worry people?

High motor and excellent athleticism, and I think you're underrating his offensive skill level. You take him high based on upside in the hopes he can turn into a KAT-lite on offense. He's not a stellar prospect but he'll be productive even at his floor. He benefits by being in a pretty crappy draft.

I think you shop the **** out of that pick. If you have to choose, SGA or Miles Bridges.

Personally, I thought Miles Bridges looked just as uncomfortable with the ball in his hands as a sophomore than he did as a freshman. I don't see him as a shotcreater. I see him as an supporting player that can hit assisted threes, run in transition, and cut to the basket.

All cool traits, but more of a role player, offensively. And unlike Mikal Bridges, I don't think he' defensively excellent. I actually have some problems with him on the defensive end.

I wrote something on Mikal Bridges, who I think would be an awesome fit next to JoJo, Simmons, and Fultz. I project him as a better defensive Khris Middleton, or a rich man's Otto Porter. Loved him last year and he transformed himself into a second round / late first prospect to a lotto lock while improving in every area of his game.

I used to work in the F/O of the Tulsa Shock after undergrad working on evaluations / scouting, contracts, helping coaches, and literally everything else they needed from me.

If y'all want some specific player evals, let me know and I'll do my best to get to them. If you like what you see, spread the word!

I want to call you both out for an exemplary back and forth. Very interesting to me and I'm looking forward to more, especially during that short window between our championship parade and the draft.

Well this is why I prefer to move up a couple of spots. The top 8 are pretty much defined and all could fit our team, I would trade all our second rounders to move up 2 spots. Course that won't be enough, but it might be worth it just to put some feelers out there instead of just selling the picks.
