Going to be interesting if the Kings end up 9 or 10 and Porter Jr. goes back to school. The best players are likely going to be Sexton and Shai. Pheonix needs a point. Do they trade 15 and 16 to the Kings for 9 or 10 and take the choice of point guards?

Besides, he puts up better numbers than Jackson and he plays at a top euroleague club.

I like everything else (except i'd swap Porter Jr and Bamba just because of potential)

I could def. see a scenario where Ayton, Bagley, and JJJ go ahead of him. I wouldn't really have a problem with that. If he falls any further than that though, I'd agree with you.

That is certainly very possible. It's tough to tell what Sacto needs. They have young talent everywhere, they just need one of them to become a star.

Nah. They need management with a brain to figure out if you have the worst overall record at the end of January you want to avoid going on a worthless winning streak in March.

I think you have Trevon Duval too high. He hasn't shown me anything that says he has any elite skills that translate. De'Anthony Melton is too low I think. I can see melton going into combine and testing out well. I think he's at worst an early second and probably a late first.

maybe i'm not a huge fan of JJJ (at least not him over Doncic). I mean he's good but nothing about him has made me go wow, he should be going top 3 this year.

I think Duval is such a good athlete at that position that someone will take him and hope he figures it out. Especially given the weak PG crop after the lotto guys. Melton could really rise in workouts, but he's another guy like Duval who has been more projection than production in college so far.

Let's say the Kings draft Michael Porter Jr.

I wonder if the Kings are going to give MPJ the "Harry Giles" treatment. Have MPJ sit out his rookie year and let him fully recover.

If the Kings can get both Harry Giles and Michael Porter Jr. healthy and performing at their optimal level, that would be a sight to see.

Apologies Cammo for chiming in here on your thread, but imo Porter won't have to sit out as long as Giles had to. I don't think the nature or seriousness of MPJ's injuries would warrant a year out - Giles felt like a guy that was going to fall apart and so that season off for strengthening his knees really felt like a safe and smart approach. MPJ looked both rusty and not moving at 100% or close to it in his tiny stint on the court, but by seasons start I think he should be 100%.

IF Giles lives up to the hype, then a Giles/Porter front-court would be a heap of fun and a great nucleus for you guys, along with Fox of course and some of your other solid young pieces.

I'm glad you moved on from DMC, you may suck right now but the outlook feels a lot brighter and it's frankly fun to see a young team come together and develop. Especially good character ones without the drama (that's not necessarily a shot at Cousins, just that it was a tumultuous period when he was with the team).

Man, looking at this draft is pretty depressing.. outside of the top 10 at least, though I'm sure it'll eventually be fleshed out with other players that show out next season, as is often the case. But yeah, seeing guys like Newman, Azubuike, Konate, Washington, Tillie, Vick, etc. in the mid-1st here that are likely 2nd rounders if they declared this season doesn't bode great.

One guy I feel should be higher is Shamet, or at least some of the higher guys should be lower, imo.

Interested to hear your thoughts on Fernando, you have him high at 5. I looked in to him this season in case he declared, seemed to have a great big body, efficient, athletic, good FT%, not sure how he was defensively but block rate could've been a bit higher. What does he project to you?

I think this next draft will be pretty solid. Guys always step up and fill in that mid-round space.

I'm not the biggest Shamet guy. I like him as a college player, but as a pro I just don't see it. Not super athletic or dynamic and the skill level isn't off the chart to mask that.

Fernando has all the skills to be a very good two way center. His defense is pretty much there already IMO, he just needs to prove he can be more consistent as a larger part of his teams offense next year. And he's going to get that chance if he stays. He has the athleticism to be an above average starting center in the NBA.

Yeah, this would be a tough spot for Orlando, who likely sees their top 3 prospects go ahead of them. Jackson is a possibility if they think he can play center, and Bamba would get a look as well, but the Magic are so desperate for a talent upgrade at guard that I could see them reaching for Young here.

Yep, Orlando's the big question mark for Young's draft spot. He probably falls to at least #9 if not for Orlando.

Young is the opposite of Orlando's front office type.

I think they build with elite length with shooting upside (similar to Milwaukee) - Isaac, Gordon, Jackson/Bamba
