Russia - Bosnia 70 : 53

But, Musa played really well. He scored 26(5/9 for two, 5/9 for three, 1/2 free throws). Couple of three point shots he missed were in the last moments of possession where he had to take tough shots, so his % could have been even more impressive!

I will post couple of videos of his highlights, in case some get deleted:

The thing with Musa that bothers me is that he doesn’t have any sort of physicality. He’s also not really athletic or long. And when I say athletic, he can only really jump off of one foot. That limits him a lot defensively, to the point where small forwards are going to kill him in the post. And if he plays on the wing quick guards are going to kill him. Defensively he’s a bit of a tweeener (in a bad way). At the same time his jumper is money and he’s smart around the basket. Kind of reminds me of a less athletic (and thinner) Doug McDermott (who is pretty athletic for a white guy). Although Musa is a better slasher who runs with long strides, so maybe not similar to McDermott, but I think they’ll be similar defensively.

He is 6'9'' and may end as 6'10'' in the end, but for some reason he always look as a guy of average shooting guard size on the court.

But when you see him next to the average Joe...

It's official - young gun Džanan Musa of Cedevita is the best young player of the season in the ABA League, as won this title in the voting contest of the head coaches of ABA League teams, ABA League fans and the ABA League commission.

The excellent guard of the Zagreb side has finished the voting with a total of 64% combined votes, ahead of Goga Bitadze of Mega Bemax, who had 16% and Aleksa Radanov FMP, who finished the voting with 5% of combined votes.

Let's mention that Džanan Musa was the best in votings of both fans and head coaches of the ABA League sides, which makes his achievement even more impressive. He also got the vote of the ABA League commission.

Musa will be the best Bosnian born player in the NBA. Better than Nurk, Teletovic, and zero respect for Bojan Bogdanobish, Bender and Ivica Zubac who are all Bosnian born but decided to play for Croatia.

He was also selected in the ideal five of the Adriatic league 2017/2018!

Yeah, but not like they are that bad either:

Gordić played on the couple of Eurobasket's for the Bosnian national team, have some Euroleague experience.

Rochestie plays well for the Zvezda in the Euroleague.

Veličković is now "old" and slow(still good for the Adriatic league) but when he was younger he played well in the Euroleague, signed for Real Madrid(and then injuries destroyed his career), played for the Serbian national team.

Luković is well known big man for years, at least in the Adriatic league.

Most of basketball fans in the Europe are familiar with 4 of 5 of those players.

He just dropped 33-7-3 tonight against Jazine. Not sure how many minutes he played, or the FG numbers.

It feels like me like he's being a bit quietly underrated. Guy's a super talented scorer.

I forgot how tall he is on paper as well, that said, it doesn't feel like translatable size outside of the fact he could probably shoot over a lot of 2's. He doesn't feel big on he court, probably due to his lack of physicality, length, athleticism, etc.

I was going to ask whether people think he can play some 3 given the size, but my feeling is no.

He''s quite skinny and his "ninja turtle" posture is deceiving the perception of his size.

I have found plenty of highlights, but nothing about his defense. How it looks?

He should be a top 10 pick.

According to RealGM - he played all 40 minutes without substitution and he was 12/20 FG 3/9 3PT 6/6 FT.

I dont get why he was there for entire 40 minutes, since Cedevita won by 51 point... Maybe its RealGM error, but usually this site is amazing at keeping stats.

Dzanan said he sees himself as a 2 or 3 at the next level, something like outside wing

Just today coach Zdovc said this about Musa defence

Oni će nas napadati gdje smo mi najslabiji i to nije nikakva tajna. Posebno napadaju Musu, koji je defanzivno naša najveća rupa, no i on može, ako hoće.
