you wonder in games like this if a coach is ever given in-game directives from management on who should/shouldn't be in the game.

Like if Mark Cuban tells Rick Carlisle he doesn't want DSJ playing the rest of the game or same with Vlade and Koufos.

God Awful performance by the Kings but huge silver lining...we're now half a game out of the 5th spot and 1 game from the 4th. Bagley could still be there at 5 and Doncic could be around at 4. Nets/Magic play each other tomorrow so we can gain some ground there. Mavs also have a winnable game against Lakers tomorrow.

For all those opposed to tanking..would you rather have Bagley/Doncic/JJJ or Wendell Carter?

Joerger just said when asked why he didn't play Koufos, "This is the group your going to see, Skal, WCS, Bogie, they are all going to play major minutes next year. Next year the training wheels come off"

I hope hes telling the truth!

Someone's a little testy. Did i mention 'people on this board'? Lol

From local media to national media to our outspoken pxp announcer there's tons of people who think this team somehow doesn't need to tank.

This felt like the first Sac game all year where the Kings actually tried to not win. The Koufus benching was fantastic.

You posed it as a question on this board? And you have done so multiple times.

I get it dude, there has to always be one pessimist to bring down the crowd.

kingjawn100 wrote:You gotta wonder if the whole "you can't draft a point guard this year" argument still applies.

It wouldn't be ideal but if Trae Young is the BPA at that point can you really say no?

The tough thing is that if its Young (size issues) or Sexton (shot issues) you couldn't really play either alongside of Fox.
You're really just conceding, whether it's last years pick or this years pick, that you drafted a backup with a top 10 pick.
Tough call

I question whether the Kings even need a PG. Another game where Fox stares at two bigs in the paint while swinging the ball. :banghead:

^I wasn't mad at that lolol

Remaining sched
vs IND LOSS
vs GSW LOSS (DURANT BACK)
at LAL LOSS
at PHX TOSS-UP
at MEM TOSS-UP
at SA LOSS (they'll be playing for playoff position)
vs HOU TOSS-UP (they will be playing absolutely no one)

if we lose 6 of 7 we'll likely end up with top 5 pick. The question is just how blatant we are willing to be with the tank. Koufus benching may mean we are really serious about it.

I would consider shutting down Bogi for both legit and tanking reasons. He looks pretty gassed from playing so much ball this year and the last thing you want is him injuring himself in a meaningless game.
