I love Brunson as a college player, and there is a place for him in the NBA, but he is really going to struggle athletically.

in fairness, Burke is about 10x quicker than Brunson. mostly just not a good comparison. Brunson gets by on strength and craftiness. and he has a big body. Burke lacks quickness for his size for being so small, but he's still fairly quick.

Someone like the Spurs or Warriors is going to take Brunson in the late first round and the rest of the league is going to be kicking themselves for letting it happen.

nope he isn't even good by college standards defensively on most outings / lack of interest on that end etc despite showing an understanding occasionally of what he should be doing and just not doing it consistently, So that won't stop him from going in the first and probably won't stop him from going in the late teens early 20's depending on how many other options return to college etc. He has never been a rim protector and probably never will be, but in today's modern nba he will find a role probably a starting role as every team interested in him will expect he can improve p/r defense etc with the right coaching, so given that he could be a true sleeper with the negatives appearing to be mental more than physical. I would be good with taking him in the early 20's if I was in a rebuild.

In the past Mo was definitely not a great defender, but he has come a long way and is definitely passable/ average now. He is the 5 man for the third overall defense in NCAA. Also, come a long way in rebounding. Both those areas aren't his calling card, but he isn't a major liability there anymore. He is probably an offensive spark plug off the bench that would work great next to an energy big that focuses on doing the dirty work and plays strong D. Definitely has some high upside offensively and could possibly become a starting caliber player too.

i put an emphasis on kids who come from familes whose fathers have played in the NBA. Brunson is about as bust proof as it gets. Brunson is the type if of draft pick you kill for if you have a 20+ draft pick. he WILL contribute

There are going to be a lot of players drafted before Jevon Carter that will not be as successful as Carter in the NBA.
