Questions better be asked about the medical staff's initial assessment last night...

just **** if thats true. we can beat tanking teams without embiid, but a playoff 3-6 seed? i dont think so. i even would bet money on the opponent

Actually, the only teams we beat this year without him were playoff teams.

how many games is that? fun facts aside...we are not a playoffteam without him. on/off numbers prove that and even the record with and without him. we are 41-22 with him and 3-8 without him...

its just devastating short term. i guess we should be glad its not concerning longterm but right now its very hard to live with that news

No fracture and no concussion by our outstanding medical staff.

The medical staff would've let him come back in the game, guaranteed.

Can't believe this is allowed to go on.

Any time you see that 'Head Athletic Trainer' Kevin Johnson....you just know incompetence will follow.

I can't imagine him missing playoff games, but we'll see.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how far this team has actually come, without him.

Just heard the news. Devastating, indeed. If Embiid misses the playoffs, his reputation takes another hit and the durability narratives will never go away. He has to play.

Right now I bet a lot of Mitchell should be ROY people are going to look at Simmons in these last few games down the stretch. If Simmons can’t beat these bad teams those Mitchell clowns will be coming out in full force lol.

sucks that indiana will catch us.

Don't think that the wizards will, especially with our schedule, even if we go 4-4 in the last eight

For those angry at our staff for missing this...X-rays captured in anterior-posterior (face to back) orientation would not catch an orbital fracture depending on its location. They did the right thing by getting an x-ray first, but he had to get a CT to rule this out. The staff did nothing wrong here.

I don't see Mitchell winning many games without Gobert.

Forget the coming days, he needs to have expedited surgery right now. We need every hour of recovery to get him back in time for the postseason.

He will. R-E-L-A-X. We got this. Embiid missed 2 seasons and then only played 31 games last year and then got us to the playoffs this year. He’s not missing the playoffs. I’m sure of it.

This. I'm presuming there's a good reason surgery hasn't been done (swelling, etc.). I am going to force myself to think long-term and focus on the fact that Joel's long term prognosis is fine and I wouldn't want to rush him back if there's any risk to his long term well being.
