I'm sorry, but Bud Selig has been showing no class throughout this whole ordeal. I mean yeah he maybe took steroids. Who flippin' cares! With or without steroids, he's done something only one other player has accomplished. Players like McGwire, Canseco, Giambi, or any other player who either took or was accused of taking steroids were never able to do it. If steroids were the only reason he got there, then why weren't Canseco or Giambi able to even hit 500 home runs? As commissioner of MLB, he should at least acknowledge it a little more than standing up with his hands in his pockets. The least he could do was clap. Even the majority of Padres fans, a bitter rival of Bonds and the Giants, applauded him. Show some class, man!

Bonds is just a great hitter. Congrats to him. I just love the way he gathers attention when he's at the plate. Pitchers are so careful with this man that it's not funny. That right there shows greatness

Kudo's to the Padre's fans. Shocked the heck out of me. They really showed their collective class in cheering for Bonds. IMO, any player would be a fool not to play in San Diego if given the chance.

So, when does ESPN start the "ARod's Chase of Bonds" daily update?

Congratualations to Barry B*nds, BALCO, the Cream, the Clear, HGH, and all members of MLB management and fellow players who were willing to keep their mouths shut and look the other way to make this dubious moment in sports history possible!

Nah, now they're just gonna have ESPN 2 cover it 24/7, with World Series of Poker updates running along the bottom.

Throughout Sports, cheating has gone on since the beginning of time - especially in baseball. So why all the fuss now?

Anyways congrats to Barry, hopefully he can get 756 at home. SF deserves it...

Neat moment in baseball history. Props to Selig for making it awkward...I agree, he could've at least clapped. I guess he's doing his best to "protect the integrity of MLB", but still. Bonds has always been an extremely talented hitter, no question. If someone from this generation of ballplayers were to break it, it would be him.

yea, protect the integrity that he largely helped to compromise in the first place.
