Re: Warriors without Steph Curry
Noah in his prime was one of the best defenders in the league and was a great passer to boot. He was a star not a role player but this argument will continue to go in circles.

Warriors fall to 11-9 on the season without Curry
Any thoughts of a Warriors repeat title seem to hinge on whether or not Steph Curry can regain his health as the playoffs come into focus.
Following tonight's loss to the Bucks, the Warriors drop to 11-9 (.550) on the season when Curry does not play.
They are 41-10 (.803) in games this season when Curry does play.
Former Warriors GM Larry Riley echoes the same thoughts:
https://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2018/3/27/17170300/2018-nba-golden-state-warriors-larry-riley-gm-says-team-cannot-win-championship-without-steph-curry
Everything falls on Steph. Without him, Golden State just isn't close to the same team.

“The Warriors can’t win it all unless Curry’s healthy . . . If he somehow disappears or has another injury, it’s going to be very tough for the Warriors to win - in spite of how great [Kevin] Durant will be.”
Everything falls on Steph. Without him, Golden State just isn't close to the same team.
Thank you Nico!

Whoever they face in the first round is going to be trouble. Assuming steph doesnt come back, they are vulnerable

The fans really do seem to mirror their star players' personalities. Kobe didn't give a damn what other people thought. KD is insecure as hell.
Interesting observation. I'm guessing it could also be a generation difference between the Laker fans of back then during the '00s and the Warrior fans of today that causes them to have a different mindset when it comes to how they react to other fans hating their team.
'00s? Don't you remember the Gasol trade? Or the Nash and Dwight offseason? Laker fans acted like LA was god's gift to basketball. If anything, they were even worse then than when they got Malone and Payto, but at least they were emotionally honest. You know you'd probably feel the same way if your team was that good.
The fake humility of GS fans is somehow more offputting. I'd rather be as cocky as Jordan than as insecure as KD. Making an alt account to defend himself online when he has an MVP seems beneath him, but that's how GS fans come off. They act like they aren't stacked, but deep down they know.

Haven't thought about the first round, but the Warriors could get a break in the second round if Harkless is hurt for Portland.
If the Blazers are healthy and Steph is still not up to speed, that could be a heck of a test for Golden State. Assuming that the Warriors are in that round, as well as the Blazers. And assuming the Blazers stay in the 3rd seed.
Thank you Nico!

Kevin Durant cost his team tonight by letting his feelings get ahead of what's more important which was beating a Bucks team led by a unicorn star. Straight up Cursing out a ref because he didn't gift him a trip to the free throw line.

Ya 11-9 and no Klay, KD, and Green for the last 6-8 games

Anyone here had the Warriors not winning 60 games this year? You made a boatload of money.

I did not see the game, but I know Durant was ejected.
Doesn't seem like a strong leadership move, I'll say that.
Thank you Nico!

That's fair. Still, Curry is far and away the guy with the best on/off on the team:
https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/2018.html#advanced_pbp::11
Curry --------> +12.0
Bell ----------> +06.1
Curry is the guy. It just isn't the same thing without him around.
Thank you Nico!

More surprising is that the Raptors have a better record than the Warriors.
If anyone brought up the possibility of Raptors having a better record than the Warriors before this season began, they would be laughed out of the room by everyone else. But here we are...

And it didn't even look like a foul to me. Just another entitled star who thinks he deserves FTs every time he misses a shot at the rim.
I wish the league would just say, "no approaching the refs during live action. Period. Automatic technical."
It would make the game better.
"I'd rather have Kevin Love spacing out to the three point line than anything (Karl) Malone brings"

You're the prime example I'm talking about, considering you're the one who started this thread based on cherry picked stats. Gee, I wonder why they picked 2011 to start measuring GS's record without Curry? Is it because if they picked 2012 then GS has a winning record without him? What's GS's record without Curry when Durant plays again? I'd normally just consider you a Curry stan, but there are a ton of GS fans just like you. You're the norm.
The graphic you posted is as intellectually honest as the one below.

Not nearly as good as it when Curry plays and Durant doesn't.

Lack of a backup PG that’s more of a slasher or shooter is hurting us right now. Most fans have thought that’s a big need we haven’t really addressed. Livingston is a good system fit but really more someone who plays well next to Curry than a replacement. Ian Clarke although not ideal is being missed right now. We’re honestly lucky right now that most every other team is also experiencing injuries besides the Rockets who we wouldn’t face until the WCF. Spurs missing Kawhi, Wolves missing Jimmy, Pelicans missing Boogie. And Blazers is actually a decent matchup for us (if Curry is healthy by then we are outmatch their back court where they are great) which is why I don’t mind the 2nd seed if we can avoid the Thunder which I imagine being a series that would be draining due to emotions and a tough matchup. Matchups are very critical to us right now. The injuries you’d hoe would get the bench rolling but they don’t look great and all the starters coming back so late may be rested but their rhythm could be a problem with the wrong matchup.
Jarret Jack: “I brought one of my best suits. But looking down at this jersey, it’s just a sense of pride I don’t think I’ve ever felt as a professional. … Nothing in my closet is better than what I have on now."
