Wow, Lue played 7 dudes all half. Way to build/trust that bench.
ETA: Can both games just end at half? Cavs lose, Sixers win. Hope both games stay that way.

Sixers won but Pelicans choked vs Cavs, of course.

"I thought winning a championship by joining a team that had already won one and where I wouldn't have to be the man would fill the void but it didn't." -- Kevin Durant, probably

Re: Around the NBA 2018 (Non-Celtics Talk)
Kevin Durant lately is really telling it all isn't he?
Makes me sort of wonder if Durant would have signed here if we had Irving then. I suspected they might be buddies based on Durant's comments after Irving coming to Boston.
Durant vocally stood up for Kyrie when he wanted out from Cleveland and I am glad he did:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2017/08/25/kevin-durant-kyrie-irving-stood-up-himself-trade-request/601972001/
On a side note, the Warriors have been pretty nice with praise this year for the Celtics when we have played them. I mean really lavishing us with praise. From the love for Kyrie, to Draymond loving Jaylen Brown and Durant even saying how great Tatum was......they were vocal about it.
The only thing that sucks for Durant is it will never be "Durant's Warriors". It's Steph Curry all the way.

In fact, Durant commiserated with Irving.
“When you’re around LeBron James, it’s so much that comes with that,” Durant said on the Bill Simmons podcast. “It’s so much outside distractions, conversations, just noise that just comes around from being around LeBron James. This whole season is going to be about if LeBron is going to leave or not. I'm ready for a new challenge. All that stuff kind of met at the pinnacle of why he wanted to leave. It just felt like he just wanted a situation where he could just be free from all that and just play.”
“Kyrie reminds me of myself,” he said. “Just from the outside looking in, I may be wrong on all these things. But from the outside looking in, being around him for a month or so, he reminds me of myself as far as just loving to play the game, just wanting to learn it and try to get better at it every day.
“The NBA adds so much baggage on top of it from the businesses side to the media just to everything and when you just want to play and not worry about that stuff, you try to find a place where you could do that. And Kyrie, I’m sure he had to know that he was going to Boston. He wasn’t blindsided at all.”

Wizards have been pretty bad and Beal has been vocal about it. Not sure how it ends, Wizards could even fall to 8th.
6th through 8th is going to be tight, oh boy.......might come down to the final few games. And we do play Washington the second to last game of the year, will be meaningless for us if the second is a done deal for the C's.
Our final game is vs. the Nets which also might be meaningless.

Ugh, forgot Lue was out, no disrespect intended. Transfer the criticism to who is filling in...

Gerald Green nailing game winning shots.
Meanwhile, Abdel Nader misses four free throws in a row.
Sigh.

If Morris plays they are doomed. If Morris doesn't play they have a fighting chance.
I was right.
You can't beat Morris.
Watch out Lebron, Morris.

Re: Around the NBA 2018 (Non-Celtics Talk)
I see the headline, "Hassan Whiteside Fined For Comments Detrimental To Heat." I didn't realize people could be fined for saying bad things about the Heat.
I prefer not to get fined, and because of that, I will only say positive things about the Heat going forward:
The Heat are good at basketball.
If they lose it's not their fault, and probably due to some misunderstanding.
Pat Riley seems very nice.
Kelly Olynyk had a splendid game 7 against Washington last year.
See? No fines for this guy.

Mavs somehow up 2 on the Cavs in the Third. Would be amazing if they held on but doubt it

Who do we think is going to take Whiteside for 60 cents on the dollar?
Could see Washington, Minnesota, Dallas & Phoenix.
I like him but dont want him here. Complaining bout playing 26mpg w/ a fat contract. No thank you.

Dallas or Pheonix would throw a lot to get him. Hit the nail on the head with those two.2Mas wrote:Who do we think is going to take Whiteside for 60 cents on the dollar?

He's a top 10-ish, maybe top 7 center IMO but he was always overrated to me. He's not a very good offensive player and doesn't move well on defense.
Would rather have Embiid, Jokic, Gasol Towns, Cousins, Gobert, Horford, DeAndre Jordan, and maybe even Capela over him.

They dreaming guy has not played in year... Be lucky to get Brown and few seconds. He was not high draft pick and there is no upside left.imho. as much as Brown is drama queen not trading him even for bigger drama queen that doesn't want to play basketball.BRUNiNHO91 wrote:truth18 wrote:
Spurs are historically cheap as ****.
Yea but still..would be franchise suicide to let your super duper star player go for pennies on the dollar. They might go hard to trade him before they pay him but they won't take pennies..it's going to have to be a major incoming value to let him go. A trade with Boston for example probably only happens if Tatum and Brown are going out along with the Sacto pick..
