If George leaves, what’s your plan?

pick up someone in free agency or just ride it out with westbrook. Its better then trading him for someone probably worse

So you’re going to get a replacement with George using the taxplayer mle? What kind of player do you expect to get on a Patrick Patterson salary?

Am I misunderstanding you or do you not realize that George will opt out and be a free agent after this season?

Ok well I’m not sure how you plan to improve a team by trading a free agent and adding and mle player to a taxpayng team that’s going to barely make the playoffs this year, but I hope your plan works.

I just did. A waste of time.

EDIT: I lied. I stopped when he said Kevin 'Nothing can fill this void, not even my burner account' Durant complained about somebody else not being treated like an adult.

To be fair: The offense has been kinda up and down as well, even with Westbrook on the court (or at least it felt like it)...

spearsy23 wrote:Defense without Roberson

I still can't believe those splits are for real. We've lost 10-15 points per 100 possessions on defense with Roberson going down with the starters. That should not be possible,

spearsy23 wrote:and offense without Westbrook is atrocious.

Russ' On/Off ORtG is +10.1 this season. I just went through every other NBA team. The only guys who improve their team's ORtG by double digits when they're on the court compared to when they're off the court are (on volume minutes: At least 1000 mp ON):

Curry: +14.7
Walker: +11.2
Olynyk: +10.1 (wut)

That's it. Including last season, nbawowy has him at +10.0 On/Off. So nothing changed in that regard.

Oh and btw: Robes is at -11.5 On/Off DRtG. He's the only guy in the league who improves his team's defense by double digits per 100 possessions when he's on the floor.

spearsy23 wrote:I've never seen any other team that was entirely dependant on one player on both ends.

Gotta question roster construction and gameplaning when you can't do **** without either one of those guys. Roberson is an excellent defender, but he's not this good.

I'm for trading him if/when PG walks. I won't vocally advocate for it because I'd like to see him retire here, but as far as I'm concerned we took our shot and failed, unless Carmelo opts out too there's no saving it again.

So are we going to ignore the part about KD going to Thunder management and pleading for them to say something to Russ about his bad habits but the organization was too afraid he had "bunny ears" and was too sensitive?

I'm not really for it, but I'm not against it. I'll always root for him though.

Are we ignoring the part about KD saying this whole thing wasn't real? Or are we running with it because you don't like him again Because KD couldn't win as a best player himself.

spot on. our offense has been mostly fine since dre got hurt, as long as russell westbrook is in the game.

i'd say that a big reason this is the case for us is that our talent level outside the top 3-4 is so bad, when we lost andre roberson it moves some really bad players into more prominent roles.

it used to be the other way around. when perk was here, our starters used to be the weakness and when we went to our bench we'd crush everyone. we haven't had that since KD's mvp season. the team has struggled to keep up the talent of our reserves. just look at the progression. perk was really our only awful rotation player in 2014. even when westbrook was hurt, reggie stepped in, fisher was here. lamb got minutes and was probably better then than any wing we have now.

jermi grant is much improved but would he even crack the rotation of that team? josh huestis? abrines? ferguson?

i don't necessarily believe the defense was dependent on roberson, either. if any of george or adams or roberson went down i think we have largely the same result.

i mean look at last season. whenever westbrook was not in the game we legit had the worst player in the nba in there instead. the biggest skill and impact gap between starter and reserve i have ever seen. felton is better than semaj but he is still not great, but we have super-scrubs such as ferguson and huestis getting big roles, it's bananas.

look at portland. their 4-10 of total minutes: aminu, turner, davis, napier, counnoughan, harkless, collins. there's MAYBE two bad players in that group (turner and collins).

Return to Oklahoma City Thunder
