we have burke they do about the same thing

Thomas is better than Burke though.

He's also an injury risk. Getting another procedure done on that hip. I like what I see from Burke. Would love to see him and Frank with KP. He is also on a minimum deal.

burke will be significantly cheaper because he is making the minimum and he significantly healthier...ill pass on IT...his nba career is on the brink with that hip injury...he's not the same

I wouldn't mind us targeting UFA Jerami Grant in free agency this year. I know that Hezonja is out there also at SF but I like Grant's defense and toughness much more for this team.

His contract was an overpay ... wolves fan don’t like him much anymore ... he's in His first year of a 5 year contract, I think it’s possible, for cap relief reasons

Not at this point. Thomas is a cranky midget with hip issues. He'll no longer be a factor in this league.

Is this the offseason thread? Cause if Enes opts out I want the knicks to throw the Bag of $$$ at Randle....... Hell if Enes opts in I wouldn't be mad if they waived him and then threw the bag of $$$ at Randle.

Oh I do..... :D

We're at 99 mil if Enes, KOQ, and Ron opt in, if they opt out we are at 72 Mil. If the Knicks waive them we're at 81 Mil since (excuse my rounding to easier number) 3/18 = 6, 3/4 = 1.5X2 = 3, 6+3 = 9. The Cap is reportedly going to be 101 mil. Meaning even if the knicks waived everyone they would be at around 20 mil in FA money in 2018. I am almost 100% sure KOQ opts out and on the low Kanter is at least looking into it. Also I'll be honest, one of the best parts of trading Melo for Kanter was that melo made way to much money to even contemplate waiving even an option, but I digress......

Funny story I think they should trade Lee for a similar amount bad contract (and a pick) in order to waive it along with noah for 2019. That should open up enough (along with letting Mudiay walk) to pick up a Marquee FA before signing back KP and potentially Burke.

That only real hitch is seeing KOQ go, but KP after this injury should be playing more center like how Duncan played center for the Spurs and KOQ is going to get paid.

Until we put some young players together on this team and start winning some games max free agents won't choose to sign with the Knicks. We're at least 2-3 years from max free agents actually choosing the Knicks as a destination.

Timmy doesn't deserve to be waived.... and his contract is until 2020

I never said to waive him. Just calculating how much salary cap is eaten up from players who we dont need going forward.

And years left in the contract? ... the wolves can afford to stretch him ... Btw I read this over in the wolves board or trade forum and thought it was interesting

Its funny cause we're so opposite the Spurs in every bad way possible, but there is a slightest of a possibility based on the rumor he wants to go to a big market.

Like the media always says players don't need big Markets, but what if the player in a gym rat introvert so they need all the help they can get?
