Crickets are getting excited about the possibility of a potential Randy Gregory reinstatement.
Do not count me among them.
Do not count me among them.

Haven't you been saying this for like 3 years now!?

Jason Garrett and his coaching staff are good for at least 3-4 loses per year. I'm just glad the powers of B are catching on,

Where has he been? I remember the insane hype around the guy during the draft. I dont think I've heard his name since.

Since his indefinite suspension for missing a mandatory drug test in 2016 - he’s been “away”. If it hadn’t been for the 6 failed tests prior to that...
Dude has issues. Needs to get his personal act together. And I’m not sure football should be part of that.

I also heard that he looks small. He was already thin, playing at about 235 lbs. he could easily being the 220-225 pounds. Personally I’m not expecting anything out of him.

The Hawks took a knucklehead like that (Malik McDowell) in last years draft. He was originally projected as a top 10 pick but dropped to the 2nd round due to a bunch of off the field red flags. A week before training camp, he crashed an ATV & never played a snap last year. In December, he was arrested for being a drunken idiot at a club.

Jerry has saddled this team with more than enough of those fools. It just becomes tiresome.

What issues did he have coming out of college or when he was cut by the Patriots? Seems like I remember something but can’t remember exactly.

Not sure... but I found this note interesting.

You and I go back a ways anyway. I've been sick of bad trades and red flag players since about 2008. Some ways you know me so well,

I see Brice Butler just signed a 2 year deal with Arizona. Good place for him.

Except for his dream of being a #1 receiver. Ain’t happening there.

Re: 2018 Dallas Cowboys Offseason Thread
Maybe we should just go to a double TE formations or start using a fullback full time. We have no WR's anyway so lets double down on the running game. I still like Beasley though and Hurns might be o.k. if he stays healthy.

I feel like the boys should get another running back in this draft. Morris is a free agent and Smith is decent but why not use a second or try to trade for an additional second to get Michel or some other Zeke type back.

I don't know about Michel... he was fumble prone at Georgia. And if a dude is fumble prone in college, he's usually fumble prone as a pro. That worries me.
Here's a guy the Cowboys had in for a visit... with some bullet points from "The Athletic" worth considering...
Nyheim Hines – RB – NC State
STRENGTHS:
- SCHEME FIT: Hines is a perfect fit in a zone-running scheme. He only works laterally to find his north/south crease and explode through it. Not a dancer in the backfield.
- SPEED: Fastest RB at the combine. 4.38 speed shows on tape. Will generate explosive plays.
- CATCH: Was a receiver his first two years at NC State. Can catch out of the backfield or line up as a receiver.
- EVASIVE: The first tackler in the open field is toast. He's too fast and explosive to be corralled one-on-one in space.
- PASS PRO: Even at his size he's assignment sound and effective as a pass protector. Can play on third down.
- STIFF ARM: Surprisingly solid stiff arm for a player his size. He has a good one.
- SPECIAL TEAMS: As a freshman and sophomore he returned kickoffs. As a junior, he returned punts.
WEAKNESSES:
- SIZE: It's hard to find a workhorse back in the league that's 5'8 and sub-200 pounds. He's going to be part of a committee.
- CONSISTENCY: Hines had fewer than 200 carries this year and was primarily a receiver the two years before that. Ability to feel run lanes needs to develop as he continues to get reps.
- FINISH: He has some moments where he doesn't look sure if he wants to go down, go out of bounds etc and absorbs some huge hits. Another thing that will improve with time.
I could see this as a possible 3rd round move... they could use a good change of pace back ala Lance Dunbar.
