The only good off the ball players in the starting lineup are Towns and Gibson, Butler and Teague are probably subpar off the ball players and Wiggins is nearly invisible off the ball. So as of now, Towns is mostly being played off the ball although he could be a 25-30 point a night guy.
Minnesota's ceiling for the next decade is tied to Towns.
Totally agree..but do you think Thibs will make changes to make best use of KAT? So far this season, I haven't seen much evidence of this. Sometimes it's just sad to see KAT rarely getting any shots during 4th quarter and clutch time
If you feature Towns now, you'd taking away the best 3pt threat from the starting lineup. I don't think he'll be featured till there's a better 3pt shooter in the starting lineup which won't be addressed till after this season. A better 3pt shooter could be found internally by Teague, Butler or even Wiggins working on their 3ball greatly but in reality all of them really would like to attack the basket, you'd want to have a guy who lives for shooting 3s, knows how to get open off the ball for a quick catch and shoot or is able to read the offense/defense and find open spots to help the team(not looking to cut). Yes, Towns could do more but would that directly hurt the rest of the team with the lack of spacing?

I don't consider Thibs a great maybe not even good on coming up with individual plays during games but I think he puts in the structure on offenses and defenses and lets the players decide what to do(teach through practice to make the right calls) but also expects players to put in work on the defensive end. If you listen to him all-star weekend in an interview with Nate Robinson and Carlos Boozer, he says you know how Thibs is, he just wants you to play hard, he'll give you all the freedom on offense, you just gotta go down there and guard. Right after that Butler said... we're still trying to figure that out.
The video is embedded in the article below, Butler starts talking about Thibs around the 1:50 mark.
