Hopefully that means they've got insight into him going in round one - preferably early. Couple guys on that list who could wind up sitting around for a while, including Griffin.

The game "Who waits longest?" is always a fun one when the list comes out.

My money has got to be on Griffin at this point. I like him, but he basically defines tweener. He's "versatile," but that's another way of saying he may not have a true position. The hand aside, he's going to have to excel in the pros doing things he hasn't really shown he could do in college. He seems like a good kid, natural leader, and obviously a spectacular athlete, but it's hard to see him going in the first, and even the second seems high.

On the heels of breaking the story on Kentavius Street last night we’ve been notified of another potential injury which took place during a private workout.

On Monday the Detroit Lions traveled to Wisconsin where they worked out fast rising safety Natrell Jamerson, cornerback Nick Nelson and several other Badgers.

Three unrelated sources tell me Nelson hurt a knee during the workout. I'm told it was nothing major and Nelson is still getting the injury checked out but some believe it was very likely meniscus related.

The NFL probably forced or coerced he and his family to accept their invitation for this event. He has no shot of going in round one. The cameras are going to give them EXTRA attention making it a story within a story. I don’t want to come off as sounding like a careless prick. But they're going to oversatuate his story and I really don’t believe that the extra media attention is coming from a sincere place, but rather for the ratings. That’s just my opinion.

He seems like a good kid. Still, he’s probably the most overrated prospect in this entire class.

Because I’m 90% certain that a minimum of 4 QBs will go in the top 5. Chubb and 4 QBs will make up the top 5. I also think that there will be a 5th QB that will end up being drafted within the top 8 (due to trades and what not). If/when that happens (5 QBs, James to the Bucs, and Chubb at #4) then that tells me that Nelson or Barkley will fall to #9.

1. Browns - QB 1
2. Giants - QB 2 - still a toss up. They can go everywhere IMO still but leaning at QB.
3. Jets - QB 3 for their sake, the best one of the bunch after trading all those picks.
4. Browns - RB 1 / DE 1
5. Broncos - CB 1 no QB imo after signing Chase.
6. Colts - OL 1 / RB 1 / DE 1
7. Buccaneers - OL 1 / DE 1
8. Bears - ????
9. 49ers -

I guess you might be thinking of someone trading up to get QB#4? Unless you believe Broncos going QB...

No brother! No way would Elway pass up on the opportunity to land a franchise type QB. Keenum is a career backup player, you don’t trust him to be a long term answer at the most important position of all sport. Broncos will not be guaranteed to pick this high again in a draft anytime soon... so if a QB falls to them they won’t think twice...

The Giants will stay pat and draft a QB or reason a huge ransom (record breaker) to move out of that spot to another team willing to move up to secure their franchise QB.

At #4, the Browns could also move back (enticing offer) big fof now I think the new GM realizes that accumulating picks and failing to add premium players is not a good recipe for them. I think they stay at 4 and take their shot at Chubb. Hyde, Duke Johnson, are more than enough to carry the rock for them next year. If they want a RB that bad they can address it in round two: Michel/Chubb.

The Bears are going all in for Mitch Trubisky this offseason. Weapons & Protection: they got him A-Rob and Gabriel and they’re not done yet (more receivers to come in the draft). In terms of protection they need to still address that, and the perfect player for that would be Q. Nelson. Again, it’s all about making the best out of their investment (M. Trubiski).

This tells me that Barkley may be our guy!? IF, Bucs go with Derwin James or some other defensive player.

To be fair to some of these guys who were sent invites. The NFL no longer places sole emphasis on just inviting the guys who they believe will be 1st-round picks - early or late. They are moving towards being in the story business as you also said. Back in the day it was almost exclusively about getting those guys invited that they thought would come off the board quickly. They've moved away from that exclusively. It's an apples to oranges comparison if anybody wants to compare the two time periods.

As long as they're not planning on using a pick in the first 3 rounds on him, I have no problem with it.

I don't trust him in the least, but I wouldn't be all that upset w/ him in the 4th round. He's Aaron Lynch 2.0 IMO.

I knew that, but for some reason I still feel he was selected for their own best interest. I got your point though Pozz.

A minimum of four QBs in the top five? It's absolutely possible, but a minimum? I'd consider it a surprise, frankly. We'll see. It's an interesting year for QBs, but that would be a lot. And five in the top-ten would be something of a shock without an incredibly active top of the draft. I'd love to see it happen, I'm just not counting on it at all.

It’s not a far fetched situation, Crims. From all of the reports I’m reading the Giants will have plenty of offers. In all honesty, they’d be idiots if they decide NOT to draft a QB now knowing damn well they’re more likely not going to extend Odell’s contract. Which means, they’re not in a mentality to win now. They’re really have to plan for life after Manning, since life with him now is not even a promising circumstance for them anyway. So technically they’re too in a rebuilding mode. They’re just doing it discretely. They’re in a position to draft a franchise QB, they’re going to do it...! Next year’s QB class is not as deep and talented, so they will not act cute later on this month and they’ll do the right thing and draft their QB this year.

1.) Browns = QB (Allen / Darnold)
2.) Giants = QB (Rosen / Darnold)
3.) Jets = QB (Rosen / Darnold / Allen)

4.) Browns = Non-QB (Chubb)
Or
4.) Browns = Trade (Buffalo takes QB)

5.) Denver = Mayfield/Allen

Coincidence: I just seen this and it relates to this conversation that we’re having.
