Re: Dzanan Musa - Bosnian sensation
I wont get into discussion who is going to be a better player down the road, but I think Musa has a lot more room for improvement than Doncic, cause Doncic is one of the best players in the europe, sort of formed player already, but with some room for improvement too, but not as much as Musa, who is nowhere near finished product
theres also a huge difference between their situations, Real Madrid gave everything to Doncic, hes their project, playing like their most important player, playing for one of the best teams in the europe with some of the best players in the europe, so that cant hurt, right...
Dzanan on the other hand should be a project for Cedevita, but they are not acting like it, Cedevita is just a bad team for a young players who need a development... I firmly believe Musa made mistake when he joined them, I mean, hes not even a third option on that team which is criminal, but he had offer from Olympiacos, one of the best teams in europe, but instead decided to sign for Cedevita
of course, neither ACB League, Euroleage or Real Madrid cant be compared to Adriatic League, Eurocup and Cedevita, but I think its fair to say that Doncic have everything that Musa doesnt have, which is crucial for a young player development, but thank god Musa is not stagnating or anything, so when he goes in the NBA, hell have all "ingredients" to develop himself

It is a problem physiotherapeut will address and if he ll be ok I am glad, but I can tell you from experience, that posture is problematic. Not because posture itself is a problem -> but it leads to problems, so if he is working on it, that is really great to hear
As far as Cedevita Real comparison.
I think thats a bit harsh on Cedevita and Zdovc, but you are correct that Real definitely has better conditions. But to get on Real team and make it to be a number 1 player basically at this age in unprecedentet it's not how it usually is in Euroleague and could be that Musa would suffer exactly that fate, as Euro League teams dont give young players so much playing time. So in the end it is hard to say what is better for a player.
Good thing I think is that both will be NBA picks and will soon have a chance to prove themselves across the sea

Musa shouldn't be compared with Doncic. Why would someone do that, just beause they're born in the same year? Luka isn't a ordinary prospect. He would be a best player of his age in any year, like if he was born in 98, 97, 96 etc.

He is better competitor leader and has a higher winning mentality than Doncic? I mean ok, you can have a subjective opinion about that, but imo the above is pure ridiculousness when you are comparing him to a guy who won a EU championship with an underdog team, has taken the mantel from Llull in Real Madrid to lead his team, has been clutch and is clearly invested in games he plays and does clutch moments.
Leader of that team was Dragic and Doncic was second option and altough he was hero in the quarter and semi finals games he didnt played well and he was hurting their team in the finals . He is best player in Real and i mentioned that he can be clutch on other topic but i need to see him in the Final Four so i can change my mind about his leadership and competitivness . I wasnt talking about who is better player but who will play better in NBA and who is gonna have better career bc my impression is that if both of them stay healthy and if they overcome lack of athleticism Musa is going to play much better than everyone expect and that Doncic will play worse than everyone expect and that after they finnish their careers everyone is gonna see Musa as better and more succesfful NBA player .

Rather ironic your name here is "unbiased". Either you haven't watched a lot of both, or you're biased. Doncic is very competitive. And it's not easy being a leader at 17, 18, 19 years old in a stacked team like Real. Doncic got hurt in the finals, how could that be held against him as a competitor? Hard to take you seriously after a take like that.
I respect your opinion on Musa having a better NBA career, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But when it comes to competitiveness, being a leader etc, I don't get your argument.
And for the record, I have watched both extensively, I'm a fan of both. And I see both as very driven, competitive.

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I certainly wont be the one to laugh it off only time will tell in the end. I wish to both of them amazing careers

Before he was hurt he was missing more shots than he was making and some of those missed shots were very bad so he was hurting his team but its ok we can stop with this discussion bc dont want to go in the circle and dont want to go into offtopic .

Basketball isn't only about scoring. He held Serbian defense spread out plus he was crashing the boards. You cannot objectively say he was hurting his team in that match, it's unfounded. If he wouldn't have gotten injured, the game wouldn't even go into a thriller that it became. Dragić had to almost die to get the win.

You have just stated one of million outcomes when they come to NBA. And you have chosen the least probable, I think they might both get hurt and end careers before that happens. You can just wish for that to happen. Or on the other hand, try to elaborate with enything else that your wish, because you like Musa more than Doncic. I don't even want to talk about leadership. lol

When you say he is a better competitor, that would mean he is a better player then Doncic, and thats just not true.
He is nowhere near to the leader Doncic is, he is miles away. Someone that has attitude problems like he does, can never be a good leader, youre delusional if you think american born players in the NBA are gonna listen to this hot head.
And then you go on saying "he has winning mentality", as if Doncic doesnt have it.
Hard to take you seriously after quotes like that
And to those of you saying "but Doncic has better conditions etc, cause playing for Real", let me ask you this, do you think Real signing Doncic at 13 years old was some sort of coincidence? Or was it maybe cause of what doncic has shown prior to that point that lead to it?
Musa will most likely be a bust

I dont think he is hothead bc if veterans have fight with 16 year old kid i surely wont blaming him especially after he was hit by opponent players few moments before that . And that situation proves that he is fighter , coompetitor and you need to have that attitude in the sport if you want to have succes bc if you have too much respect you cant be a good player. If you go to the NBA and think "oh its Lebron, Durant, Harden, Westbrook, Curry" you are going to be out from the NBA very soon. If you have too much respect for your teammates you are going to be on the bench and when you enter the game you wont get many shots and your players wont pass you the ball even if you're open.
Best example of this is Bjelica and his situation in Minnesota. Another good examples are Dragic's attitude at All Star game and Bogdanovic's attitude at Rising Stars game bc Dragic had too much respect for other All Stars and he ruined his first and maybe only All Star game bc he was affraid to score so he was just passing to them and he hadnt scored even once. Bogdanovic was tottaly opposite of that and he was taking shot after shot , taking shot from half court and he ended with MVP of the game.

lol, Musa was hit in the hand and floped like someone shot him in the chest, and when he couldnt hold his mouth and kept on going at Mozgov, Teletovic grabbed him by his neck, rightfully so I might add, or maybe you think its OK that a 16 year old kid that hasnt achieved anything can do whatever he wants.
It was funny as hell the way he cried afterwards

Whats sad about all this, is the way the bosnian spectators chanted "musa, musa" during the incident, not even realizing the little hothead was in the wrong and should learn a thing or two about respect

Doncic is a much better prospect, but I would be shocked if Musa is a bust. Both of their game is tailor-made for the pace and space.

19. Utah Jazz: SF Dzanan Musa, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Get to know this name. Musa is a positionless 6-9 perimeter weapon who doesn’t turn 19 until May. He is a highly competitive and skilled offensive player who can play both on and off the ball. With his size and feel, Musa sees over the top of the defense and shows a natural capacity to run the pick-and-roll. He passes the ball and plays with a fluidity you often don’t see from a teenager. More than anything, Musa’s rare scoring ability will instantly translate to the NBA game.

He hasn’t accomplished anything?
Ummm he led BiH to a U16 European championship and was MVP of the tournament. For BiH youth teams it is considered a success to simply qualify from the group stage, winning the tournament wasn’t even a considered a realistic scenario. He was leading scorer of back-to-back U16 European Championships and leading scorer of a U18 Euro. He was leading scorer at FIBA U17 tournament. Musa is also one of the youngest players to play in Euroleague.
This season he was named to the All-ABA League Team and best young prospect.
But you’re right, he didn’t accomplish anything yet.

Games against Russia and Belgium are at much higher level than Adriatic league and he lead his national team full of a young players through the qualifications . And he will be around 10-15 place in the draft with chance to be even higher so you discredited yourself with that statement.

Thats why i would love for some team that is fighting for POs to pick Musa and not someone with 2nd first round pick that is tanking. Would love him on Denver(yes Im Bosnian so...), and yes he would have to change his posture a little and who would be better for that job than Steve Hess

I am 100% positive that Musa will never be as good as Doncic is right now at age 19. Don't get me wrong, Musa is indeed a very good young player, but he's miles from Doncic's caliber. Evidently, based on comments in this thread, Musa is the new most overrated player in Europe.

He cannot be overrated bc he isnt called golden boy etc. so its nonsense to say that but if Doncic fail everyone will say that he is new Darko and Bargnani.

Cant believe he is ranked as low as in 20s in some drafts. This guy destroyed all youth competitions, lots of potential there. Imagine him in college.
If guys like Hinrich and Olynyk, super random name drops, but if these guys can go lottery with very obvious low ceilings, I cant see how this guy is not there, crazy.
