I like Knox. I think he could be better than a lot of players slotted to go that high. 6'9" with a physical side, he can rebound, he's got lock down defensive potential. Yeah, not seeing fire worthy drafting there. Even if he busted you took a shot and his intangibles won't go away unless he gets fat and shrinks.

Obviously IMO it’s mismanagement how the minutes have been handled, and Vlade shouldn’t have been hired or have a job with his credentials, but it’s totally unfair how many close wins we’ve had this year. Unfair. I hope the basketball Gods repay us come lottery time

Your right homey. Actually, as much as I complain, I don’t see the big difference between post-Doncic all the way to Carter/Bridges, 2-9 or so.

The big differrence though is the power of the higher slot. With a top 3/4 pick you can

1. Draft a guy you want
2. Trade down for additional lotto picks
3. trade down for pick + vet
4. Trade down for 2018 pick + 2019 pick

For a market like Sac the draft is really our only way out and management/coaches dont seem to realize that. If a soon to be free agent was watching the game tonight would he wanna come play with this team that could barely beat the tanking grizz?!!

You wonder how much the commissioner actually hates tanking. It almost inspires fan interest watching your team try to play bad enough to earn ping pong balls vs a completely meaningless late season game where the games result would have no direct impact on draft placement. Imagine if every lotto team had equal lottery odds...why on earth would you watch this Kings-Grizzlies game..even if the best players were playing?

That is interesting to think about. The possibility that reworking the odds would have negative effects on the game viewing and attendance even more than two bad teams playing makes you think there is no solution.

I'm completely spit balling so don't trash me here but what about a weighted rookie cap like the nfl has except the cap would be on the team not the draft slot and the drafted player got offer sheets from teams and had to take one of the top 3 offer sheets he got.

So say Phx, Mem and Atl finish 1,2,3. They are allotted 18, 16.5, and 15mil and so on going down the line according to season record.

Teams can sign enough players as picks they have still and can use the money in their cap however they want in their offers. Meaning they can offer one player 15mil and another 1mil as long as they have the rookie cap space and if they have 2 picks and the players accept then they have a deal.

The player has to take one of the top 3 offer sheets presented and there should be a time element to it to like it's a 3 day period to present offer sheets and another 2 days for rookies to make decisions.

If teams still have picks and player are still left after the 5 days then it goes to a straight record ordered selection meaning if 4 teams have a pick left they select in the reverse order of finish record and pay with the remaining money in their rookie cap with a league min and max salary guarannteed for the players like 1.5mil or something.

I like Knox too. I just think Mikal/Miles Bridges, Wendell Carter, Mo Bamba, Michael Porter, Ayton, Doncic, Bagley, and Jaren Jackson are much better prospects for the Kings.

I like the fact that JJ was solid again tonight. Dude has the length/athleticism/BBIQ/mid range/work rate on D to be solid once he fills out and gets his confidence, hopefully. Maybe irrationally I still think he has a solid shot to be a starter at some point

Looking forward to see him next year once he has his legs. Has played too long, needs the summer off. I think we’ll see a better player next year. Can he play SF as a starter is another question I’d have

I don’t have a problem with the worst team picking first, like in all the other leagues. I’d drop the lottery all together. It’s not a problem in football hockey or baseball.

I think it's less of an advantage in the other sports because of the # of players on teams in those leagues is considerably more than the nba but I feel you. I was just trying to come up with something new.
