Re: 2018 Draft / Tank Thread 3.0
If we don't get a chance to pick Ayton or Doncic then the only position left with the most need is point guard and I'll take Trae Young, please.
Allen Iverson was undersized and still carried his team to the finals (where they got swept).
He'd have had a longer career if he didn't have such an attitude problem.

If we don't get Ayton, Doncic OR Young then I say trade the pick and get a couple middle 1st rounders and grab a couple PG's or a PG and a SG.

Actually, Trae Young is taller and heavier than Allen. 6' vs 6'2 and 165lbs vs 180lbs.

Will not and absolutely should not happen. Horrible idea.

Re: 2018 Draft / Tank Thread 3.0
I like our PF and Small Forward. Don't see any need to get rid of Gordon or Isaac. At all.
That leaves our positions of need at Point Guard first. Then Center, then shooting guard.
And I'm not in love with any center or shooting guard in the top ten.
And yes I know about Bamba (as a Center).
I'm a Longhorns fan and watched most of his games.
Not super psyched about him.

It is important to note that Dončić is the best player in the second best league in the world. A league that is many Miles better than the NCAAs. Let's translate that: if Dončić was playing NCAAB this year, he would easily be its best player.
i agree the Euro league is better overall than college. Not sure i agree that Doncic would "easily" be the best player in college this year

I am completely sold on Doncic but he is gone after 3. Another time we might miss out on the top tier of picks to all you “non tankers” out there.
Basketball is a business, and taking is a smart long-term business decision in our situation.
So if doncic is gone who is your pick?
Michael Porter, Bagley, SGA

it's hard to compare directly from EL to NCAA or NBA because the leagues value different things, but people who compare Doncic to guys like Mario or even Kristaps miss how big of an impact Doncic is having in the actual EL not some other minor euro league and not in a bench role like Mario.

Re: 2018 Draft / Tank Thread 3.0
There's a 3-way tie for 3rd, 4th, and 5th between Dallas, Atlanta, and Orlando. Assuming all 3 of these teams lose their last game, we're looking at a 3 way tie that will be broken by a coin flip? Crazy.

Yeah but the odds would essentially be equally divided. I’m hoping that Dallas beats PHX tomorrow though.

Dallas is going to tank their asses off. Phx already clinched the best odds so there is zero reason for them not to win. Dallas has every reason to lose and seeing how they are capable of rolling a god-awful lineup out there like they did against us I cant see why they wouldn't just do it again.
