2 games left for Portland and they are one game ahead of Utah who also has 2 games left.

I suspect Portland will give it a good shot, but we play well at home and we're playing well right now.

Nov - @Portland loss by 17
Dec - @Portland win by 17
Jan - @Denver win by 3

We've beaten them here and in Portland. I like our chances tonight.

While we can't "wish them a great summer", I'd love a payback kinda game here. Doesn't hurt that a win will help continue our drive towards the playoffs.

Im wondering why our front line is getting outplayed, why do Millsap and Jokic come out flat shooting in the first halves, a terrible recent trend ???? They're shooting 4-18 collectively, PATHETIC for such a big game !!

Jokic at least have a good all-around game today in 1st half with 6-8-7, +2 on +/-, makes our offense better despite a bad shooting, and forced Nurkic for 4 early fouls. But genius Malone with Harris back cut Jokic minutes on 15 per half as usual. Especially is dumb benching him at the end of the 3rd quarter when Nurkic is out, so Portland finished the half with 6-0 run.

Our defense is good in general today, but 3-12 in offensive rebounds so far in Portland favor is unacceptable numbers.

It is called winning ugly

... real "playoff game", and good to see our young team is capable winning in this way vs elite opponent.

Credit to Malone for giving Jokic to play over 22 minutes in the 2nd half of this "do or die" game. Even with 5-14 bad shooting night, Denver is almost invincible when Nikola is in a triple-double mode (9-1 this season, 14-2 career). Of course, we would lose this game if Malone repeated scandalous mistake from the first half when Western Conference Player of the (last) week played under 16 minutes. In 38 minutes when Jokic is in, we are +18 today, and -12 in just 10 minutes when he is on the bench.

To be fair, a big part of tonight win is an unexpecting gift from NBA 2018 best FT shooter Lillard which missed half of his last 8 free throws. Officials finally start to respect Denver more in the last couple games, Jokic especially, but there is still some ridiculous calls, including that scandalous last-minute TV-review when they gifted Portland ball on 79-82, despite from all angles was obvious that Nikola didn't touch the ball.

Clippers not trying too much to beat Pelicans, they playing without Lou and nobody is on double-digit right now (4 players already for NOP), so we will fight with Minnesota for 7th place most probably, or 6th, if Utah loses both last two games (vs GSW and @POR).

G.Harris might have tweaked that knee on that landing, but he kept playing. Sure hope it isn't an issue.

Not a very well-played game but a very satisfying win. With The_Joker on the pleasure of watching our young players coming through in crucial minutes during crucial games.

Player of the game - Will Barton. Malone just left him out on an island vs. whoever had the ball up top between CJ and Dame. And he played the best defense he’s played all year by a mile.

Yes, might have been his best defense - roughly equivalent to a 400 lb man losing 4 lbs in a year, for the first time in 10 years. :lol:
