He's is the absolute key man for the Jazz. His game fits with other players so well and he's the ultimate glue man. Don't think you'd find a nicer bloke too, who is a great locker room guy and also a fantastic community person. Wish him every success and he's deserves it.

Oh, no doubt he oozes swag. Trash talks constantly. Even though he looks like a regular joe (no pun intended), I think some people overlook he has great size and length. He's 6'8 with long arms. Let's him guard 1s and 2s at times. He's actually a bit like a better shooting version of Portland Scottie Pippen.

Edit to add, hah, just looked up Pippen's bball ref. Pipp's 2nd year w/ Portland he averaged 11/5/5. Ingles this year...12/5/4.

How exactly? Their numbers are nothing alike, on both sides of the court.

You're crazy if there are 50 players you think have been better than Ingles this year. Name them.

Josh Richardson
Ben Simmons
Embiid
Oladipo
Horford
Kyrie
Tatum
Steph
KD
Draymond
Gobert
Donovan Mitchell
Devin Booker
Russell Westbrook
Paul George
Lowry
Derozen
LeBron
K Love
Harden

Clint Capela
Bradley Beal
Giannis
Jokic
Aldridge
KAT
Jimmy Butler
Dwight Howard
Kemba Walker
Ricky Rubio
Andre Drummond
Anthony Davis
Jrue Holliday
Marc Gasol
Lou Williams
CJ
Dame

I'm probably missing someone and some of the above are probably arguable but the 40 range seems about accurate if we are just talking this year IMO

Dunno about top 30, but maybe top 50, and that's still pretty damn good.

Bolded the ones that are questionable/I disagree with. Some of these guys are just volume/box score guys who have not made the impact Jingles has. Would I rather have Booker or Lou or CJ if I have no other scorers? Sure. But on a playoff team? Give me Ingles. Gasol is better, but hasn't been this year.

You could make the argument he is top 30, he is #34 in RPM among all players and #5 in RPM for small forwards.

Now whilst I'm not going to disagree that the majority of this list are very good players and probably more physically talented than Joe, his value to Utah and his play this year is definitely greater than some of the players on this list. Jingling Joe is one of the prime examples of a player that box scores do not show the true value of.

The OP has gone with a bold statement, but maybe the better statement would have been that's he's top 30 as far as value to the players team

He's a kinda player I believe could play anywhere and fit in without changing at all, but top 30 seems high he just a top wing that does all the things we value in today's game.

Not every wing is 2nd in the NBA in 3 PT% while also averaging 5 dimes and playing good D.

I feel like there is a higher standard for a top 30 NBA player then that criteria

Top 30 isn't a stretch for Jingles.

Hedo was a better scorer, but pretty much Joe all the rest. Hedo was a lazy a** who likes them pizza so much.

He's surpassed all expectations I had from him in the NBA, I remember watching him when he was younger with Bogut on the Australian national team and did not see this coming.

A long time ago watching him play for the now defunct South Dragons one year I was like, man he's really good, I know he's not a good athlete but surely he'd be valuable for an NBA team but I didn't think it'd ever actually happen. Statistically what he's doing this year is almost identical to what he was doing in the Australian NBL that really wasn't very good. Much better playmaking now though.

Love how far he's gone, everyone's favourite 30 yr old sharpshooting white guy that doesn't seem like he belongs in the NBA yet is only getting better.

I remember when one of my all time favorite players, Detlef Schrempf, was always called "the poor man's Bird", another of my all time favorites. Watching Utah a week ago with my dad, I was telling him how good Ingles was and my dad while watching him play and do a rebound to a long pass/assisted basket blurted out "He's a poor man's Schrempf!"

Now we just need to wait another 20 years for someone to be "the poor man's Ingles!".

Ingles is such a special player. He has no ego, plays completely within himself and gives you hustle and defense. Jazz fans are lucky to have him.
